We have a lot of ideas for appetizers/snacks/treats, how about side dishes to go with the meal? Hot or cold. My kids love this one. We call it...

Cherry Jubilee

Can of cherry pie filling
can of crushed pineapple - drained
1 cup miniature marshmallows
8 oz cool whip
1 can sweetened condensed milk

Quick and easy

I just tried that dish at a neighborhood potluck and it was really good. The lady who brought it said sometimes she serves it chilled and sometimes frozen. I made a simple pasta salad with shredded carrots, celery, green pepper, onions and a mayonnaise base, used creole-style seasoned salt and then a large can of crab and heaping cup of shrimp. People seemed to enjoy it very much.

A couple of great sidedishes to serve with ham:

Pineapple Casserole
1 cup granulated sugar
½ cup butter or margarine (softened)
4 eggs
5 slices white bread (cubed)
1 1-pound can of pineapple (chunks, tidbits or crushed - drained)

Cream butter and sugar together. Add eggs one at a time. Fold in bread and pineapple. Turn into a greased casserole dish. Bake at 350º for 1 hour. Serve warm.

Cheesy Potatoes
1 bag frozen hash brown potatoes
2 cans creamy condensed soup (cream of chicken, celery, etc.)
4 cups shredded cheddar cheese
2 cups sour cream

Mix all ingredients together and transfer to a casserole dish. Bake at 350º for 1 hour.

We've been making a microwave version of this for years, but it also includes salt and pepper, melted margarine and dried onions. We top it with crushed corn flakes mixed with more melted margarine. You cook it at 70% power for about 15 minutes.

We usually make a double batch with two bags of potatoes. The rest of the ingredients you list sound about right for a double batch with one stick of margarine mixed in and 1/2 - 3/4 of a stick in the cornflakes.

This never lasts long at our house and is great reheated for brown bag lunches. It's our favorite side for turkey.
