Is there a site somewhere that provides examples of the same picture taken with different lenses at different zoom levels?

Lets say for instance our subject is Cinderella's Castle, and we're taking photos from the end of Main Street. I'd want to see a wide angle shot with lens A and a max-zoom shot with lens A, and then the same thing with lens B, and C, and D, and so on - to compare what the different lenses do to the same subject, etc. Something for a better visual comparison of when to use that 55mm vs. that 300mm etc.

Anything like that or similar enough to be useful?

is this what you are looking for..lens

Yes, Mickey88, that is perfect. Exactly the type of thing I wanted to see.

Only problem is now I want a 500mm lens. :confused3 :sad2:

one great reference for lenses and what sorts of shots you can expect from the focal lengths is Pbase. use the Search by Camera link. this is especially great when trying to decide between two lenses. it doesn't give you a view of the same scene, but it's possibly more practical as you can see real world examples.

i noticed that link and thought it was great...very helpful info so thanks for posting it
