Sick days at Work

Usually, zip. I haven't needed a sick day in almost 11 years. Worst I seem to get is a cold. (Now that I said that, I'm probably going to get the flu. :lmao:)

Zero.

We don't really get 'sick' days. We get 5 discretionary days that can be used for sick days or in with your vacation time (but if you use all of them and your vacation and then get sick you don't get paid for it). They don't carry over from year to year so I usually plan 3 days for vacation or doctor's appt.'s and leave 2 days until November/December and then use them to make sure I don't need them throughout the year. Luckily in the 3 years I've been at my current job I haven't had to use any or call in sick.

None. We don't get "sick" days, we have PTO. If your illness goes to a 6th day, then short term disability starts. It's been over 8 years since I had to go to short term.

I'm in the usually zero club as well. I also have PTO days, and not that many so I try to keep them for vacations. If I am not feeling well; I do have the option to work from home as well.

We get +3 PTO, and they don't carry over. I usually tack them on to vacations. Although this year I forgot to use them, and they paid me for them with my last paycheck of the year. :woohoo:

I use one or two, but I don't use my sick time for them -- I'll use my comp days or vacation days.

We get 5 sick days per year, and if we don't use them, they pay us for them the first payday in February. :cool1:

I always use 1 as I have a Doctor that I need to see once a year that requires some travel

ocasionally I will use another one if I am not feeling well but so far never more than 2 a year. Ours also carry over year to year so I think I have like 40 stored up just in case anything ever happens

I'm not even sure how many I get per year, but they carry over from year to year. I was able to use some of my accumulated sick days to care for my Mom (I think it's up to 5 per year).

But I rarely take a sick day, mainly because I work half-days and seriously, with a 15 minute commute, I can handle a short day, then go home and collapse! (I also work alone, with people stopping by my office, so I don't have to be too concerned about infecting anyone else.)

I use one day - sometimes two per year to stay home with sick kids (they allow us to use our sick days to take care of our dependents if they are sick).

Technically, we have unlimited sick days and they refresh after you use them but they have found that on average, workers use an average of 3 sick days a year (at least that is my company and what they have told us). But after 5 days, short term disability kicks in so you wouldn't have more than 5 sick days in a row anyway.

0-2

Some years I haven't taken any sick days and others I have taken 1 or 2 dealing with bronchitis or an upper respiratory infection.

We get PTO as opposed to sick days. I've called off same day twice total since college but I take a lot of PTO days a year because I like to travel. They don't separate out sick time, holidays, and vacation. It is all just one pool.

In all my years of working, the only sick days I've used have been when I was hospitalized.

We get 10 days a year and we can carry them over. Last year I used three, one for a sinus infection and two for the stomach flu.

We can use 5 of the 10 days as family sick days, which works out well for those with young children or elderly parents that they have to take to doctor appts, be with if sick, etc.

I get 6 months full pay for sick. Have only been off 2 days in over 6 years

My job uses PTO as well, I earn 9 PTO hours a pay period (18 hours per month). I can use this for sickness, vacation or if I was put on call for a normal shift.

However we are only allowed two instances of non pre-approved absences per quarter, anything past that and they have the right to fire us.

I usually use 2-3 a year but more often than not it is because my child is sick, not me.

I get 8 "sick days" a year. They don't carry over from year to year. So it's use them or lose them.

Usually I'll use 6 or 7 a year. Two or three for actual illness/under the weather and the rest for mental health days.
