Do you remember the first magical time you went to Disneyworld???
How you felt when you saw the castle???
When you got that picture with Mickey mouse???

I dont.... ive never been!!

But im going in six months, yet all i read on here is BAD things, for someone who hasnt been the new FP system wont affect me, ive been to disneyland and NEVER had more than 2 FP a day. Im excited about the magic bands, if there are teething problems so be it.

I come on here with excitement, wanting to read magical things, yet even the posts that you think are good end up slating Disney. We along with hundreds of others have saved for years to be able to travel to Disney.

SO THANK YOU for the posts slagging the place off, thank you for the im never going back disney posts, thanks for the magic bands are rubbish, my magical experience is rubbish posts...... your making me SO excited for my trip. your making me glad im spending thousands of pounds and dreamed of this moment for years.

Maybe one place where people can talk about the bad stuff so people who dont want to read it dont stumble across it

Wow. Speaking of a thread to pop bubbles... I was having a pleasant morning going through the threads. This all by itself has got to be one of the most derisive, unpleasant posts I have seen. :(

You will have the BEST time because you are going with that kind of attitude. You are going to DISNEY!!! It is so exciting to be able to say that. I can finally say that we are going THIS year. We went 2 years ago and had.so much fun that we gave up doing anything for vacation last year just so we could go again. Don't read the posts where all they are doing is complaining. If you do see a negative post, ignore it. Enjoy your vacation. You will have a magical time.

I have been to WDW about 13 times during my life. Now that my kids are getting older I cannot wait to show them everything that I love about the place. I've been reading all the negative things and I'm sure there are definitely parts that need to be worked out, but honestly it isn't phasing me at all. 9 of us are all going in seven months and my excitement isn't fading with the new policies at all! The way I look at it, I'm on vacation with my whole family. My husband and I are in our thirties with young children so a vacation other just to my inlaws vacation home is a pretty big deal to us. I'm not saying not to read the negative-keep it in the back of your mind-but know that you WILL have an amazing time! You'll all have a blast!

There are other message boards out there. You can try easywdw. It's a smaller community, and while the changes negatively affect many, they'll happily help with the planning.

The Dis sometimes gets a little rowdy, but that's expected when you have a huge population of passionate people.

I believe the mods have already been moving the "i'm here and hate it" threads over to the Disney rumors and news forum.

Can I ask why? I want to be excited about disney but all I read is complaints, surely if you have been going through threads u have read them too? So why is this the most unpleasant? The one that says please think if those who haven't been yet?!

We asked the mods months ago to move all the FP+/MB/MDE discussions to a separate board, but everyone seems to feel that they're so critical to an effective Theme Park Strategy (that IS the name of the board) that they needed to stay.

Please realize you're immersed in thousands of years of WDW experience on this board, and you probably came here for tips and tricks on how to get the most out of your WDW experience. Wouldn't you say that you're much better informed about potential issues you might experience during your upcoming visit than if you had stuck to threads on how wonderful the detail in the Fantasyland Expansion?

Very easy solution for you: Don't open any threads with a title that is negative towards anything you really want to do, and exit any thread that doesn't begin that way and starts to turn thus. Simple. Turn a blind eye to the bad, if you haven't experienced WDW in the past, you won't know what you are missing anyway.

Do a search for:

That one moment **tissue alert**

I'm looking forward to walking my three year old into MK and the look on his face!

I actually believe those are going to the trip reports board. I also believe they are moving all of the "I'm here and love it" threads there as well. Right along with the "Just got back and love/hate it".

If people are coming to this board looking for strategies to navigate the parks you they have to realize the game is changing everyday. People need to offer their experiences with MM+ for any of us to make any kinds of decisions for our vacations. Asking people to report back but leave out their opinions just isn't going to happen.

I'm sorry the recent post are affecting you excitement about your upcoming trip. If this is your first time to visit then the recent changes won't affect you since you haven't experienced the way things were at WDW. I for one am someone who has done much complaining recently. I have even cancelled our upcoming trips and have no immediate plans to return to WDW. This is for 2 reasons. The recent changes makes it much more difficult to vacation at WDW for our family. Also, we are DVC members and we wish to branch out and visit other DVC resorts. My family and I visited 2-3 times a years for the past 18 years. I figure with that and my DVC investment in 2009 we have given the "Mouse" well over $150,000 and so have many other ppl. So with that said, I'm sorry you feel that way you do about the posts, but I feel many of us have earned the rights and spend enough money to complain. I hope you a good trip and a positive experience :goodvibes

What other's think are horrible may not be for you. This site offers lots of advice. You will have a great vaction. :goodvibes

If the DIS is effecting your life in a negative way, log off. I don't understand why these threads keep popping up. You're an adult, if something makes you upset don't read it. You can't expect the world (or the DIS) to change for you.

People who have negative things to say that make you upset have just as much of a right to be here and post. If you want positivity and excitement so badly, why don't you start a thread discussing why people love Disney so much instead of posting yet another negative thread just like the ones you're complaining about?

I totally agree and i dont want my post to come across that i dont, of course people are going to complain and you have the right to just as i might when i come back from any holiday destination, i just mean there should be one place for it, or even a 'FIRST TIME IN DISNEY LIVING ON CLOUD NINE' thread that i can just focus on!!

I said this is one of the most unpleasant and this part of your post is why...

"SO THANK YOU for the posts slagging the place off, thank you for the im never going back disney posts, thanks for the magic bands are rubbish, my magical experience is rubbish posts...... your making me SO excited for my trip. your making me glad im spending thousands of pounds and dreamed of this moment for years".

This paragraph is sarcastic and somewhat hurtful.

The changes will definitely negatively impact my future trips. I have only entered discussions sporadically (hopefully with tempered responses) but I do hope feedback helps to shape the end result into something better than it might have without feedback. If you've never been to WDW I'm sure you WILL love it, even with the changes. However, for those of us who have been pouring all our vacation dollars into WDW for years (I am not rich, I scrimp and cost cut everywhere to be able to go) the changes are so major that it changes more than a one time experience... it changes our escape world... possibly enough so that it is no longer an escape at all.

All that extra planning and worrying about smartphones and possibly spending time at GR and all the unknowns change it from a safe haven to a confusing, stressful place for many of us.

I do hope you have a wonderful time, and as a first time visitor I feel certain you will.

Yes, what was the purpose of starting this thread?

OP, all you need to do is stop reading if you don't like what has been written. Problem solved.

:sad2:

So make that thread yourself, there's nothing stopping you. Much more productive than making another complaint thread just like the ones you're complaining about.

Sorry you are feeling negative about the posts. However this is a strategy board so people are going to post good and bad experiences. We adore Disney World and travel all the way from Australia to visit once a year. We didn't care for the Magic Bands and weren't thrilled with FP+. We have talked about the fact that FP+ might mean we won't visit the parks as much or we might even end up doing Disney Cruises combined with Disneyland.

I'm sure that you will have a wonderful time on your trip. If the posts are bothering you this much - don't read them :) Skip them (the title almost always explains exactly what the OP will post about) or log off on Dis :)

i wrote a post asking people to think of those who have not been, , Im asking for things to be in perspective, and i would LOVE a whole section that just talks about how exciting Disney is..... your right PERFECT idea!

see how nice my post to you was.... now read yours back...
