Who else out there doesn't look like their sibling(s)?


I am 1 year and 7 months older than my sister, and no one believes that we are sisters. Our own mother even thinks we don't look alike.

I dont look like my sibling either. My brother is 25 months younger than I and we dont look like we are related. Hes 6'4", im 5'2". He has black hair, mine is a light brown (well red thanks to my colorist). My skin is pretty fair, he has a darker complexion. Brown eyes for him, green for me. He actually looks Mexican, while I dont and when people ask and I tell them, they still dont believe. When I was younger I used to ask my parents to be honest and just tell me I was adopted. They assured me that I wasn't.

My daughter has had a boy in her class for 3 years now and actually they went to preschool at a different school together too. He is as blond as you can get, pale light skin and blue eyes. His brother (same mom and dad) has much darker toned skin, dark brown hair and brown eyes. To this day, even though I know they are 100% blood brothers, I can NOT believe it. I wish I had a pic, it's amazing.

My brother and I look nothing alike. I take after our Dad's side of the family and he takes after Mom's side of the family.

DH and his brother also look nothing like each other. DH takes after their Mom and his brother takes after their Dad.

Now, with our kids, DS looks just like my Dad and I and DD looks like her Dad and my MIL. However, the kids also manage to look like brother and sister.

Odd, how it sometimes works out one way and sometimes works out another....

My sister and I are a little over 2 years apart and look nothing alike.

I am one of 6 kids. My mother had 4 of us with my father, and then 2 more with my steop father. There is a family resemblance among all of us. My mothers' family genes were strong!
My sons don't look like they are related to each other. My older son has dark hair, is skinny as a rail has a longer thin face with a hint of color to it. My younger son is a freckled hearty strawberry blonde. The older one looks like my mother. The younger one looks like my mother in law. It is really uncanny.

It is strange how children with the same parents, can look nothing alike.

I was born with snow white hair and hazel eyes, very very fair complexion. If I am outside for too long I burn. My sister was born with brown hair, brown eyes with a fair complexion, but she tans insteads of burns.

My sister is 14 years older than me. She is 6'1" and blue-eyed and has a completely different face than me. She also has a large frame. My brother is 16 years older than me, also 6'1" and skinny as a rail. My brother's and my eyes look similar, but other than that we look nothing alike. He has darker features and hair. I am 5'1" (in shoes), small-framed, I have pale skin and light brown/hazel eyes and blonde hair. Put us together in a room full of strangers and you'd never guess we were siblings. We're all neurotic, though. LOL

My siblings (1 brother 1 sister) look nothing alike. Now my dd7 looks exactly like my sister. If you were to look at pictures of both of them at the same ages, you would think they were the same person.

My brother is 2 years older than me. Since we were teens people have thought we were dating ( can you say yuck ). I now have twins that look nothing alike. Not even like brothers. One looks like my dad and one looks like my husband.

I don't. If you looked at a family portrait, you'd never guess my sister,brother and I are related. My brother is short and stocky with fair skin, blue eyes and (when it's not dyed some hideous color)strawberry blonde hair like my mother. My sister looks more like our real dad with a touch of his mom thrown in:Birdy-boned and very thin with fair skin and dishwater blonde hair and blue eyes.

But then there's me. Short and stocky like my brother BUT with olive skin, green/brown eyes and very dark hair.

Actually, I look like my mom's father with ****s and glasses. Kinda scary, actually.

My kids don't look alike. DS13 has medium brown hair and chocolate brown eyes, light skin but not pale, DD10 has deep brown hair, brown eyes, darker then DS13's and almost olive skin, DS10 is blonde/blues eyes, pale skin. If you put the three of them together you can see a family resemblance, more like cousins then siblings though.

My older sister (who is my half-sister) and I look very much alike. My younger sister (who is my full sister) and I look nothing alike. We used to tease her that she was adopted. She always knew she wasn't--she looks exactly like our grandmother.

My oldest sister's daughter (my niece) looks enough like me that people who don't know us well get us confused (and we can fool her babies--I can hold them and they don't cry.)

I have a cousin who looks nothing like her family full of blue-eyed blondes but looks like my twin. We even have the same mannerisms.

It's funny--my sister and I look a lot a like except she is almost 6 ft tall and I'm only 5' 4"--she also has straight, straight hair and mine is crazy curly! But sis and I were destined to look a like b/c when my parents were dating people thought they were brother and sister b/c they looked so similar!

I am the eldest of 3. I am blond, blue-eyed, and very fair. My sisters have dark hair, brown eyes, and darker complexions. I think I got the traits from the grandparents instead of our parents.

Kind of weird -
Our grandmother had 3 girls, my mom and her 2 sisters. All 3 of them have dark hair and brown or hazel eyes. Each one of them has 3 daughters. Out of each set of three, 2 are dark and one is blond. My cousin looks very much like my mother - more than she looks like her own mom. My sisters look like each other, but look nothing like me.

my sister and i don't look anything alike. i look like my parents - my sister really doesn't.

i am tall, have straight light brown hair, and have a small chest. my sister is short, has curly light blonde hair, and has a huge chest (couldn't she have shared some with me? ).

i used to tease her that she was adopted (i am the oldest and remember her birth).

I don't really look like either one of my siblings. My sister and I have the same mouth and that's about it. However my sister and I have very similar mannerisms and the same laugh so you can tell by watching us that we're related but if we just stood there and said nothing you'd never tell.

I have 2 younger brothers. The one who is 7 years younger looks a lot like me, and our baby pictures are almost identical. The brother who is 3 years younger and I look nothing alike at all. Several times last summer we would be out doing something together and people asked us if we were dating... that was a little odd.
