Shuttles from LAX and Carseats

This is the first time we are visiting Disney with a Little One (4yo). When my husband and I went to Disney World years back we took the Magic Express from the airport and it was a little shuttle bus. Well, good thing we booked through a travel agent. In my head I just assumed it would be the same sort of idea. Our travel agent informed us that apparently it's just a van and we will need a car seat. Total pain in the butt to have to pack this with us but I'm glad we found out now. Just a heads up for travellers who may be thinking the same thing.

The Disneyland Express bus service from LAX to DLR does not require car seats or boosters. It is a bus, not a van. Lansky's Car Service can provide car seats on request. Uber/Lyft do not provide car seats or boosters. You are right that it is always wise to check first, especially since CA law is strict about car seats and boosters. If your little one is able to use a travel booster, posters here have given good reviews to Mifold and Bubblebum.

We have used Lansky several times with multiple car seats. It is more expensive, but they have always been great and I would not trade the convenience for anything. Best of luck with your trip!!!

I think our travel agent booked us with Karmel... have you used them before? I'm wondering why she chose this one.
I was looking at the Disneyland Express (considering to see about switching) and it looks like they just go every hour. That is a bit annoying.

We have two kids, 6 and 3. We booked Lansky for our trip in February so we don't have the deal with the hassle of car seats, and so we didn't have to rely on the schedule of the Disneyland Express. On our last trip we used the Disneyland Express (again, to avoid having to bring car seats). The Disneyland Express is ok if you don't mind waiting around for it, and if you're staying onsite as that's where they drop off first. I preferred, this trip, having dedicated transportation to pick us up and drop us off instead of having to leave super early for the airport or waiting around for the shuttle when we arrived. Our flight schedule didn't mesh well with the DE schedule.

This! Lansky has spoiled us. Also,we need three car seats, and this is just the easiest way.

We have a trip planned in May, will bring one car seat and need a booster, so are considering Lansky's from LAX to DL. How long in advance should I reserve? I'm worried if I book now it will get lost in the system over the next few months...

Lansky's receives consistently good reviews on this board. I have never read a post from someone saying their booking got lost in the system. You could always check to confirm your reservation a month before your trip, then reconfirm the week before, just for your own peace of mind.

Thank you, the double and triple-checking is a good solution. We'll have a 19-month old (and her car seat) with us this trip so my fear of transportation mixups is higher than usual

I think as early as your plans allow is fine. As a pp mentioned, you can always call and confirm. They are great!

We are taking our 4 year old Granddaughter in May.
I just went onto amazon and bought her a backless booster for the trip.
It is super light weight and not a big hassle. They just have to be 40/40 40 inches tall and 40 lbs.

This is what I was thinking. But our travel agent told us California has some of the strictest laws. I'm trying to do research to make sure. The one site I'm reading states they need to be in a rear facing carseat until 40" and 40 pounds. Our DD is probably JUST 40 pounds and just over 40". It doesn't really specify is they can then go straight to a booster, though. It says, "a child is ready for a booster seat when they have outgrown the weight or height limit of their forward-facing harnesses. This usually occurs around 65 pounds." I'm just scared to get stranded without a proper seat.

A child restraint (Car seat, booster, or harness) is required until age 8 or 4'9". All options are legal as long as the child meets the restraint's criteria. Children under 8 and under 4'9" are required to ride in the back seat.

Backless is fine, as long as your child meets the height and weight requirements listed on the restraint.
