Hi everyone,
when we visit WDW next time we'd like to do a day trip to cocoa beach. I know that we could rent a car, but I'm a bit afraid of driving in a foreign county with an unknown car. So is there an other way to get to this beautiful beach?

I would rent a car and combine the trip with seeing the Kennedy Space center.

Driving in the US is considerably easier than most of Europe as I have been told by dozens of Europeans from a variety of countries. All you have to do is drive the speed limit.

Cocoa Beach is a little over an hour drive from Orlando ... I'm sure there are transportation/limo companies that you can book, however, they will be much more expensive than renting a car for a day. You can rent a car from the Car Care Center on Disney property or from the Dolphin Hotel, or even from Buena Vista Palace across from Downtown Disney.

thanks for all your answers, maybe I'll try the car rental. But on our next vistit I'll still be 24 - that means extra 25$ (ALAMO), right? Do I have to pay these 25$ once, or is it per day? And what about gas? Is it very expensive?

And the FL tours sound interesting, too. But when I choose a date for the round-trip I always have to put in my flight time - but I don't want to go to the airport!?

Some transportation/limo companies only shuttle guests from the airport to their hotel and back ... others are specifically for trips to Kennedy Space Center, etc. Unfortunately we've never used a transportation/limo company as we've always rented a car.

As for the $25 under age fee, I believe it's $25/day for most car rental companies. Gas is about $2.48 a gallon - so to fill your car up it would be between $30 and $40.

I'm not sure on the details for the under 25 years old charge.

Gas, make sure you use unleaded very few cars here use diesel. The price of course varies but is cheaper than Europe. It is sold by the gallon but right now is about $1.40/Liter.
