Shuttle or car

We are staying at the Wyndham Grand Orlando Resort Bonnet Creek from Dec 27 to Jan 2. We will be driving from Virginia so my original plan was to drive every morning to the parks, but I just found out that the hotel has shuttles to the parks for an extra fee ($7/person round trip). For those who have stayed at this hotel, is the shuttle service a better option than driving own car?

Things I'm concerned about driving my own car to the parks:

1. Not being able to rope drop (I've read in many places that Disney Resorts' buses are allowed to get to the parks before the cars can go through the parking tolls, so I wonder if it's the same for the hotel's shuttle).
2. The parking cost at the parks and the lack of transportation in them that take you to the gates (i.e. MK).
3. Not being able to go back to the hotel for a nap and come back in the afternoon.
4. The cost of the parking at the parks ($45/day if you want a spot relatively close).

Thanks for your comments.

Non-Disney's resort shuttles drop off at the front of the Transportation & Ticket Center lot for Magic Kingdom guests. So it is still necessary to take the monorail or ferry. I have never used any so I am not sure whether they even start early enough to make rope drop.

Some have sign up sheets at the hotel front desk to reserve bus times. I actually think this is better to have some predictability of getting on a shuttle particularly late in the evening.

We've stayed at the Club Wyndham Bonnet Creek Resort (the timeshare) and found that the shuttle's times were limited and not very convenient. So we used our own car (we had driven there). However, we had APs and didn't have to pay for parking. You might get additional answers if you post your question on the DISboards Orlando Hotels board: https://www.disboards.com/forums/orlando-hotels-and-attractions.15/.

We stayed there for part of a split stay a few years ago and upon arriving to the resort (after deciding NOT to rent a car), we were told that it was not $7 one way per person. We did the math REALLY quick and decided with mid-day breaks we were better off with Lyft and/or Uber due to our party size.
