I've read on several websites that advertise CP that there is a free airport shuttle - anyone know if this is in fact true? And if so, do you know how it operates?

Also, do you know if there is a shuttle that goes anywhere else (for a fee I assume)?

I know most people who have stayed at CP have had a car, but I wondered if maybe someone had noticed a shuttle, or read about it in the resort information.

We were just there last week. It did say in the information that they have a shuttle to area attractions (for a fee). When we called to ask about it, though, they said that they didn't have one at the time, but they would be happy to call us a cab.
I don't know if maybe it was because it was not the busy season - maybe they run a shuttle during summertime.

They told us the same thing last April. Loved the hotel for the space. Next time I will book in the one w/ the elevator. It was murder after long days in the parks. Didn't rent a car took cabs and used free buses from Downtown Disney $6 and a little inconvenience. We spent about $100 on taxi's for an 8 day stay. It was worth it for the amenities at the Hotel. It was just like an apartment. (crappy views though)

Yeah, I ended up calling them to confirm the reservation (I wanted to make sure Hotel Kingdom had put it through correctly), and asked them about the shuttle and they said no. Funny how several websites advertising rentals of CP say there's a free airport shuttle!!!

I'm glad to hear that you can get to DTD for only about $6.

We used a transportation service from the airport w/ 30 min. grocery stop(came in at night). Wynn-Dixie is actually behind the resort. You go out through the driveway that seperates the Grandvillas w/ the regular Cypress and it is a few feet down to the grocery store parking lot. Yes there is a sidewalk. If you aren't renting a car you will still be ok if you are prepared to take a few cabs and do a few connections. It works out if your traveling party is a little older (over 6 or so). We don't like getting to the parks first thing in the morning. If you do, a taxi was $20 straight to any of the parks They dropped you at the taxi stand; right by all of the entrances. It was $10 to the outlet. Once you are at the outlet you can take the I-trolley to do a few things up and down I-Drive. We took a day off from the parks evry 3rd day to shop and do things non-Disney ::MickeyMo

Thanks for the info! My friend will only have a day and a half on her own without a car, so I figure she can find enough to do within a $10 - $15 taxi fare range!

Didi you go to Target or Walmart at all? If so, did you take a cab from the resort, or did you get there from another shopping area? She will want to go to one of those places, and I'd like to give her an easy way of getting there, while also incorporating other shopping into her day.
