We are sailing the Fourth of July on the Wonder. I understand why they didn't post the prices a year ago when I first booked my cruise, but it's 74 days before we sail now. When does a pricing show up?
Maybe Disney is going to dump them?
:worship:

I seem to remember them being available a lot further out than this. I just checked mycruisephotos and it doesn't go beyond the week before July 4th. That is odd.

I keep checking and haven't noticed them add any dates in almost 5 months. It's only 11 weeks until we sail. I think the only thing that would make this stressful is if in July they started a new company taking the photos. I can't imagine being the first cruise with a new photography company!

Typically the prices on photo packages are available around 3 months out. So you're just under the wire on that. I'd give it another week.

So it's almost 2 weeks later now.
Has My Cruise Photos been given their walking papers?

Have you tried calling DCL to ask? I'm intrigued!

Edit to add a question:

If we choose not to add a shutters package, will a CM use my camera if I ask during meet and greets?

I think as long as there is two cast members they will but if it's just a character going from table to table that they have no one to help.

I can't believe how much more they are then PhotoPass at WDW. I wish they would use that form that was so much easier. I,too, have been searching online for information/hints about using Shutters. Our cruise is August 2017 and am trying to work on a budget, I am seeing prices near $400 for a 7 night cruise

Would you be able to do me a favor? On their website if you cannot find their cruise they have an option where they can send you an email when it's available. But no matter which email address I enter it won't let me send the form through. Could you see if it's just the fact that I'm on my phone it won't do it?
Has anyone been able to send that request through?

The Shutters employees will not as it is against their company's policy. If there is a DCL CM present, they are usually willing to take a quick picture with a guest's camera.

Understandable. Am I allowed to take photos with my own camera at meet and greets (of my kids) if a CM is there available though?

I was on the Fantasy mid April. I had no problem getting CM's or other passengers to take pictures. Also no one had any problems with me taking my own pictures at any meet and greets. The pricing for the all prints or all digital prints packages was $350.

Yes, you may use your own camera at any time. The photo's where you most likely won't be able to get your own is if you get a family portrait with one of the backdrops in the lobby before dinner. Those photographers do not usually have an extra CM to do your own camera. But most meet & greets have a CM present, and if it's just the kids in the picture you can do your own anyway.

Enjoy your vacation!

I've always just handed them my camera and they snapped the pic for us

Only Cast Members are allowed to handle your camera. Shutters photographers are prohibited from touching your own camera. For all character pictures, there's always a CM and he/she will happily take a picture of you, before or after the Shutters photographer.

There's places where you can pose with a backdrop for a family portrait. In those cases, they will not take your picture with your own camera.

Unless there's a CM there, also. We've had our picture taken in front of one of the backdrops in the atrium a couple of times, with our camera as there was a CM there helping.

we were disappointed with our photo package this year so we'll likely bow out next time, most of the time we take photos of the kids so I am there to just take the photo myself but for the formal nights where a lot of family pictures were being taken, lots of families behind you or in front of you in line will take a photo of you using your camera, noticed this behavior started to occur a lot on formal night

I was disappointed with their last package also. The price was high as always but that wasn't what upset me it was the amount of skill lacking in the photographers. I think I asked for my daughter to stand in front of my parents and the photographer said I don't know it's my first week. A few hours later I went to ask who is considered the best photographer on the ship that week.
