Got home from WDW on Saturday. We had a good time, but very tiring. That's what I get for going non-stop for 9 days!! Anyway, booked a PS at Shutters for son's 15th birthday along with birthday cake 2 weeks in advance. Went by Shutters 3 days before PS to confirm cake. No problem...all taken care of. Arrive Fri. night for PS and they had no record of my cake order. No problem, we'll make sure you have one. Got the waitress from h*ll! It took her 10 mins. to come to the table and greet us. We had already memorized the menu by the time she got there. She then wanted to explain everything on the menu to us. She didn't speak English very well so that was a problem to begin with. We couldn't understand her and she couldn't understand us. Needless to say, we didn't have great service. So by the end of the meal, I was ready for them to bring out my son's cake and sing to him. Wrong! Waitress comes back to the table and wants to know if we want any dessert. I told her that I wanted the cake which blew the surprise for my son. She said she didn't know anything about a cake. She then asked me if I wanted the complimentary cake. I told her that I wanted the cake that I'd ordered. She had a blank look on her face. I then lost it. Mind you when I lose it, I am still nice about it. I don't like to hurt people's feelings. I then told her to forget it and I would find my son a cake elsewhere and to bring the bill. She leaves and is gone for another 10 minutes. She arrives with the hostess and the manager with maracas (sp?) and start singing Happy Birthday. However, they had no clue whose birthday it was so they kept looking around the table. The waitress then points to me as if it is my birthday. I then lost it. Mind you when I lose it, I am still nice about it. I don't like to hurt people's feelings, however, this waitress had ruined my son's birthday dinner. I explained everything to the manager who then tried to make it right. By then my husband was so mad that steam was coming out of his ears and when he gets upset, he's not nice! So, I told them that we just wanted to leave and asked again for the bill.
When we arrived back at our room, there was a knock on the door. The manager had sent a balloon bouquet along with a cake, mouse ear rice krispy treats, coke, a birthday card from Mickey and Pluto, and an apology note. I thought that this was very nice of the manager.
My son did enjoy the character breakfast that we went to on his birthday. He loves Goofy and he was great. We had breakfast at the Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club and it was wonderful.
I hope that nobody else experiences what happened to us. Other than this, our trip was great. We had a blast together as a family.
