Shuffleboard, anyone?

Our kids (12,16,18) had a great time playing, of all things, shuffleboard on deck 4. I'm surprised they only have one court. At times, we had to wait until others were finished playing. It seems like it would be such an easy and inexpensive thing to install, and there is plenty of space on this deck.
Also, this deck is probably one of the best "secrets" on board. It seems isolated and quiet for those times when you want to get away form the hustle and bustle of the other public areas of the ship.

Deck 4 is a great location....they may be able to fit one more shuffleboard court, but I do not think any more than that. People are jogging and walking and with all the deck chairs to many shuffleboard courts would be in the way. In the mornings Deck 4 is pretty busy with walkers and joggers.

Several times I have seen a shuffleboard disc go astray and almost trip a jogger or walker.

There are also shuffleboard courts up on Deck 9.

Really, the best shuffleboard court is on Castaway Cay. Go way down to the far end of the family beach - past the tram stop for serenity bay and off to the left is Castaway Joes / Groupers Game Room. The shuffle board courts there are plastic/nylon and you don't have to throw out your shoulder pushing the disc to the other end of the court like you have to on the ship (since it has the none slip strips on it)

We played on the Magic a couple of times. I was pretty sure they had courts on both sides of deck 4 on that ship.

On our Wonder cruise, they definitely only had one court. There were a couple of guys who were playing almost every time we stopped by. After several times trying to play, DS and I finally just sat down and waited until they finished a game, and asked if we could take a turn. I have absolutely no idea if we were playing the "right" way, but we did have fun. And isn't that what cruising is all about?
