Coca Cola has downsized their product. They have come out with a 1.5 liter bottle that is selling for the same price as the 2 liter.

Reminds me of "space saver" ice cream, among other less-for-more products.

coke has also came out with a 12 oz plastic bottle too... in cases they are putting those at eye level here,,the 20 oz, are at bottom where 1 litres used to be,, andthe 1 litres are ina seperate case its like that in all thelocal area convenience stores now and we are seeing i t more elsewhere too

I agree, shrinkage is a growing problem in today's society.

Yep, my favorite fat-free yogurt used to come in an 8 oz. container, now it's a 6 oz container for the same price.

I noticed that same thing yesterday! And I have all of these recipes that call for 8 oz.

Yup,

Fewer kleenexes in a big family box these days.

herc.

The best is how they advertise it. I saw a commercial and it was a busy woman in a house doing a million things at once who was SO happy to have her conveniently shaped new Coke bottle that allows her to pour her drink while doing other things.

They neglect to point out that the new bottle is much smaller than the old. Why would anyone want a more conveniently shaped bottle anyway? It's soda for crying out loud, I don't care about the bottle, I'm buying a bottle that big because I drink alot of it.

I like the 1.5 liters bottles!

They kept bringing them to me at my BIL and SILs wedding in France, the priest (he's 29) and I were blowing through them since neither of us drink. The bottles are a nice size and easy to use. We don't have them out here though - yet.

I've noticed this with some cookies too. They're using more plastic packaging between each cookie, so they don't have to include as many. The actual packing remains the same however.

Which is exactly why I am now a Pepsi drinker... Ialways liked Coke better but with this stunt they are pulling I have switched to Pepsi who still has 2 liter bottles!

Think they can do that with a Dis'er? :rotfl: I wouldn't mind a bit of shrinkage!!!

It really bothers me when they start shrinking Hersey bars and Coke/Pepsi - they're my drugs of choice!!:p

Also with Feminine hygeine products Every "improvement" they make , 2 Playtex disappear from the box,

Um, yes.. Bryer's Ice Cream... noticed all cartons were much smaller this week but still selling for $6 -and- the box said 16% bigger. HAHAHA! Right!
