Hi - how are the shows on the Magic? This is our first DCL cruise. I've been hearing about Wishes and Golden Mickeys for years and was disappointed that neither of those are on our cruise. I'm sure Tangled is good - but have never heard of the rest...Twice Charmed and Disney Dreams. Hope they're good!

The shows are great. Tangled recently replaced Villains Tonight (yay!) and Twice Charmed has been reworked. Dreams is the other one and is a Disney standard (I love it).

Golden Mickey's - I put in the same grouping as Dreams. Wishes - not so much. The only redeeming point for Wishes (for me) was that it centered on Disneyland, and us west-coasters are often forgotten as being part of the Disney family.

They're all three going to be new to me. I'm really going to miss Believe though. I know a lot of people on here don't like it, but it is my favorite!!

I don't hate Believe, I can see what they were trying to do. It's basically a similar story line to Dreams, but they were trying to make a "new" show. It's just a little too weak in the storyline for me. And the father I saw in both productions on the Dream and Fantasy was just too ---- wimpy, saccharin-y, devoid of any intellect for me to relate to.

In reality Dreams, Golden Mickey's, Believe, and Wishes are all basically "write a story line that explains why you are doing bits from various Disney shows" But, it's hard to come up with too many variations to that.

Tangled, Twice Charmed, Aladdin, and the new Frozen show are all one show-specific and work well that way.

Villains Tonight - sort of in the first category, but focused on one aspect of Disney shows.

Disney Dreams is fantastic. Definitely my favorite of the shows we've seen on the three ships we've been on. We haven't seen the new Tangled show, but I hear it's absolutely fantastic. Twice Charmed is cute. Not my favorite, but I liked it better than Villains (I'm ordinarily a fan of villain-themed things, but I wasn't that into this one).

I have seen Disney Dream over 20 times and I can't wait to see it again on our Magic cruise on the 17th of this month. So looking forward to seeing Tangled..very excited about that one!! I love all the music in Tangled.

Twice Charmed is good..costuming and sets are beautiful.

I absolutely love the Golden Mickey's....just do!!!

I probably just feel attached to it because it was the last night of a fantastic family vacation. But I love it. (I even adapted the main song to use in my class when we are studying plants!)

Dreams sounds great though!

I saw Tangled for the first time when I sailed in May. I thought it was an amazing production, particularly in the set design and tech aspects. However, my favorite currently running show is Twice Charmed. It's quite different from the other ship productions. Tangled, Toy Story, and Aladdin are mainly condensed versions of their respective movies with a smattering of original songs added in. Disney Dreams, Wishes, Golden Mickeys, etc. are all basically songbook anthology musicals surrounded by an original storyline. Twice Charmed is an original storyline (although it's a sort of alternate history of Disney's Cinderella) -- so the songs won't be familiar, one of the major characters won't be familiar. I love that originality and was thrilled to see the soft opening of the redo in May and can't wait to see how much more polished it has now become when I sail later this month.

Is it difficult to get a good seat to the shows? Do you need to go early? We have late seating dinner if that makes a difference. Thanks!

I feel all the seats on the main floor are good (Dream & Fantasy). I don't care for the balcony the handrail always seems to be in my eye line.
If you want a seat in the first few rows you need to be there when the theater opens (30 minutes prior to the show).

The theater is not that big, so all of the seats are pretty good. If you want to sit front and center I would recommend arriving about a half hour before the show. You'll go to the show before dinner, and I find the early show tends to have less small, crying children in it, because they are at dinner during the early show.

We sailed on the cruise when Tangled premiered. I think it's just an amazing show, and by far my favorite of any of the shows on the ships.

Our first two cruises we had second seating and found the first show to be fairly sparsely populated. For our last cruise, we tried main dining and the second show was a MAD HOUSE. We arrived a half hour early every night to get good seats together. It was frustrating because I feel like we had to cut some activities short between dinner and the show (guess which seating I prefer).

Disney Dreams is my absolute favourite!! I see it as often as I can!! I have seen it well over 100 times and still love it!!

I was on the Magic this summer for the first time. I really liked both Twice Charmed and Tangled. Made my meet and greet with Rapunzel fun. I had celebrated my birthday on the ship, wore the buttons all week, and we talked about the lanterns! Enjoy your cruise!

When we cruise with our grandkids (12, 10 & 7), they love all the shows and judge them by how much confetti and/or streamers come down near the end. We still have bags full of them...great for scrapbooks and birthday parties (memories or the Mouse).
