Just wondering if the restaurant will still honor the ADR? We were initially going to be 2 adults and 2 children under 3, now it is just 1 adult and 1 child. Will they still honor my ADR?
Most likely, they will still honor your ADR. I had the same situation a few weeks ago and asked the same question and the general consensus seemed to be that 95% of the time, they will still seat you.
I had an ADR for 4 at Coral Reef, and it when we showed up with 2, they didn't bat an eye about it.
Most of our ADR's in early December were for 4 adults and 2 children. Two of the adults bailed on us on several meals and we had no problem getting seated for any of those.
This is good to know because I am getting ready to make ADRs in five minutes and one person in our party may bail out...but I am making the ressies anyway! I figure it would be easier to find a seat for less people than trying to get a bigger table.
Showing up with fewer people is never a problem. They will still have to shift things around, for example, if two people show up for a six-person rez they are not going to put those two people at a table for six. You may have to wait while they do some adjustments. However, it is not nearly as bad as having a rez for four and showing up with six. In that case, the restaurant has no obligation to honor your rez and may very well reject you.
Like Condorman said, showing up with fewer isn't a problem. Showing up with more can be, but they will try to work with you if possible. You will likely face a longer wait, but they will try. However, sometimes, due to fire codes and/or capacity, they can't take any additional people. The only exception to the fewer/lesser is with places like CRT where you pay in advance. My understanding is that you will end up paying for a no-show, even if most of your party shows up.
We were a party of 5 adults and 1 child in a high chair but my son did not go so we changed everything to take him off . We have DVC and used MS to book our ADR's . They changed all of them but 2 for some strange reason .
But we had no problems checking in 1 short
