I'm trying to get ideas for making a new Fish Extender! I know there used to be a Fish Extender thread here a while ago, but I couldn't find it, so I figured I'd start a new one!

Post a picture of your FE! Did you buy it, make it, MacGyver it?

I would love an inexpensive suggestion! We are trying out cruising this month and honestly are not sure we'll love it. So we don't want to spend $40+ on an FE it we will only use it once. I have no time or talent to make one myself.

I bought a cute Mickey Halloween reusable trick or treat shopping bag but just realized it will be too wide for the space. Help!

I made ours from 3 halloween treat bags from dollar tree, covered them in fabric and used lots if hot glue! This is our first cruise so I hope what I made works out ok! How wide is a recommended size?

I've seen some really cute ones made out of pencil cases, tote bags, or duct tape.

The last one I made was about 8 inches wide, and it was just about perfect.

I sew and have an embroidery machine. After costing out time and materials, I ordered one from Bullfrogs and Butterflies on etsy. It was almost the same price! https://www.etsy.com/shop/BullfrogsButterflies?ref=l2-shopheader-name

Ours looked like this and it was ADORABLE, held up well and had clean stitching.

Could you turn it inside out and sew a seam down either side to make it narrower when it's turned right side out again? Or even pin it on the inside in the same way? Might work in a pinch if you don't come up with something else.

Purchased on Etsy for last year's cruise! Did it generic (no ship name or date) so we could reuse. Also only did pockets for our two kids. image.jpeg

My 5 year old DD loves all things Frozen, so I made this one from fabric I found at Joanns. I coordinated with Frozen Mickey ears and Mickey head magnets with the Frozen characters. I have not touched a sewing machine since high school home ec class - which tells you how long ago it was- but if you can measure and cut, thread the machine, and sew a straight stitch you can make this. I followed a YouTube tutorial and probably spent $15 total. image.jpeg
