I had a list of 'wishes' for my e-ring that I made sure all my guy friends knew... this was so if I ever got involved with a guy and was friends with any of my guy friends and decided to take them with to pick out an e-ring... they would know exactly what to tell him to get. I didn't know that one of those friends would turn into that guy LOL. I got to pick out the ring anyway though.
So here is the ring that met my requirements... white gold band, solitary diamond, princess cut, 1/2 carat, NO high cathedral setting (heaven help the sales person who tries to sell me a high cathedral setting!)...

Beautiful!! I was the same way, I didn't want my diamond to set high and snag everything...except I'm partial to yellow gold (though the setting has some white gold inlayed in it too. I'm not sure if you can tell how the jeweler set the diamond down further....

My ring has been ordered and it's on it's way but there hasn't been an "official" proposal yet. It's going to kill me if it's in the house and I can't wear it but I know my sweetie has big plans.

So as far as I know, it looks like this:

The stone is a 1.02 carat princess that's "kite mounted" meaning, instead of being square with the ring, it's turned so the corner of the stone points toward my fingernail.

My ring's center stone is a light blue ceylon sapphire, with a split shank and diamonds. The wedding band was custom made to fit the engagement ring. DF chose the ceylon sapphire because I 1.) Wanted something different 2.) He researched and found that the ancients beleived that women who wore blue stones in their rings were said to be of the most loyal and truthful Here it is:

thank you, i adore it. i love things to be simple yet elegant so its perfect for me although i was a bit surprised that it is white gold - i had always imagined my ring to be yellow gold!
only problem is its a tincy bit small, so i had it for 12hrs and it had to be taken back wont have my size in till wednesday at the earliest. i'll be counting down the days.

I hate in a way how trendy sapphires are right now though! lol. I've always wanted something a little different and now everyone (due to Kate Middelton and other celebs) are all over gemstone e-rings
