How would you rank The Golden Mickeys, Believe, and Beauty & the Beast? Which one is your favorite and why? Least favorite and why? Any of them you consider "don't miss" or "skippable?"

Thanks!

We really enjoy Believe and Beauty and the Beast, and I would not skip either. We often skip the Golden Mickey’s. I don't particularly like the Cruella portion, but it’s more than that.

For your first cruise I wouldnt skip any of them. You need to see them for yourself, in the theatre the way they are supposed to be seen. Each one is different and unique and each one is great in its own way.

Thanks. Asking for my teenagers who may want to do other activities.

Beauty and the Beast is DCL's best show imo. It is not to be missed. I would watch both of the others, as well, but I definitely wouldn't miss Beauty and the Beast.

My ranking would be:
  1. Beauty and the Beast (agree with previous poster that it might be the best show they ever did). It is a true musical retelling the story as in the movie (a bit abridged though). It has the look of the recent live action. To me it feels the most adult of all the shows.
  2. Believe. As most shows on DCL it is a bout of a cheesy background story that is a vehicle for musical numbers from various movies. But I think here the background story is actually quite neat and has a lot of heart.
  3. Golden Mickeys: this is a classic and has been around a long time! I looked it up: 20 years!! There is a scene where the Disney CEO used to appear. And it debuted with Michael Eisner! I am not thrilled with the background story, which seems very forced to me. But the idea of this being an awards show for best Disney movie is very cute! I think they wouldn’t have kept it if it weren’t a hit with guests. But I have seen it 4 times now and feel that that’s enough for me.

I love them all and wouldn't miss any (can't say that for every ship). My order would be

1 - Beauty and the Beast
2 - Believe
VERY CLOSE 3 - Golden Mickeys

They have had them on the stateroom TV as an option - the same day only though unless that's changed - and it may be a different cast (at least the time I watched one again while I was getting ready for bed, most of the cast in Believe was different - more than just an understudy for one).

I wouldn't miss any either. Beauty and the beast is not to be missed though! While Golden Mickeys really doesn't have a story, the various performances are amazing, especially on a moving ship--love the Tarzan number. Believe has a nice little story and had me teary eyed at one point... Disney knows how to pull the heart strings.

They still have a Bob iger scene and it was never replaced during Chapek’s tenure

I’m in camp see all three of them
If you had to skip one think of if your planning on cruising in the future as all three shows repeat (or will repeat) on other ships
Golden Mickeys (with some alternative scenes) on wonder, believe on fantasy and Beauty and the Beast is coming to the Treasure

1. Beauty and the Beast
2.Believe- I hear our girls singing the believe songs throughout the year. Plus it has an amazing message for the adults.

None of us, kids or adults ever liked Golden Mickeys. I just don't get why so many say they do. Our last couple cruises didn't have it and we were so glad. I'm disappointed if it's back.

If you want to miss a show, personally I'd skip Beauty and the Beast. It was our least favourite, based on the live action movie.

Believe is my favourite show across all the ships and Golden Mickeys is always great.

Hard for me to recommend a skippable show, but here are my reviews.

As a father of three girls, Believe should be the one that touches me. It's a decent show, but it never has grabbed me. I'm not a fan of the original song written for the production. and several of the Disney song choices aren't my favorites, either (though I do applaud the effort to branch out from to the standards that seem to be a part of every Disney production now). One caveat is that a great Genie performer can make the show.

I'll say the "plot" for Golden Mickey's is probably the worst. But the lineup of Disney songs is very solid, and the two original numbers are not bad.

Beauty and the Beast is an impressive production. If you love the live action movie, you'll probably love this. I was disappointed in the absence of "Evermore," though.

Thanks, I read a review somewhere that said while the performance is good, there’s nothing new here, story wise . We’ve seen the Hollywood Studios version and the broadway production. This would just be more based on the live action movie. I’m thinking this is the least unique of the three.

Like others I’d say beauty and the beast and Believe are the best two. With adults or teens, I’d vote beauty and the beast. With littler kids I’d vote Believe. Beauty and the beast has a lot of scenes that are rather dark (scary looking wolves in the forest, Beast angry and shouting) and my kids didn’t like it. Lots of babies and toddlers crying. In the scary bits.

I absolutely love the Golden Mickey's....I love the song choices and I really enjoy that Cruella scene......I love the villians. Beauty and Beast was great and very different than the last time I saw it. They updated it to reflect more of the storyline of the live action movie but the sets and costumes were still wonderful.

Believe is cheesy but I still go see it each cruise.

I actually still go to each show each cruise.....I love them and would feel like I missed something if I didn't go.

And yes....as of 2 weeks ago at least Bob Iger was no longer shown. I think it was Captain Minnie or Mickey but I can't remember.

If you've seen those, it would be the one I would miss if you needed one free night. I've seen all three and the Broadway Show is by far superior. Enjoy.

BATB is a similar (but shorter) version of the stage show. However it’s my second favourite show the ships have, although Frozen and Twice Charmed are close behind.

(My fave is Tangled.)

I like Believe, I think it’s solid except I could do without the How Does Your Garden Grow song.

Golden Mickey’s for me is a distant third. It’s very cheesy. I saw it last year on the Wonder for the first time in like 8 or so years and it didn’t improve so that’s it for a while for me.

Oh no, now What Makes the Garden Grow is stuck in my head!!
