Thanks. Asking for my teenagers who may want to do other activities. For your first cruise I wouldnt skip any of them. You need to see them for yourself, in the theatre the way they are supposed to be seen. Each one is different and unique and each one is great in its own way.
They still have a Bob iger scene and it was never replaced during Chapek’s tenureMy ranking would be:
- Beauty and the Beast (agree with previous poster that it might be the best show they ever did). It is a true musical retelling the story as in the movie (a bit abridged though). It has the look of the recent live action. To me it feels the most adult of all the shows.
- Believe. As most shows on DCL it is a bout of a cheesy background story that is a vehicle for musical numbers from various movies. But I think here the background story is actually quite neat and has a lot of heart.
- Golden Mickeys: this is a classic and has been around a long time! I looked it up: 20 years!! There is a scene where the Disney CEO used to appear. And it debuted with Michael Eisner! I am not thrilled with the background story, which seems very forced to me. But the idea of this being an awards show for best Disney movie is very cute! I think they wouldn’t have kept it if it weren’t a hit with guests. But I have seen it 4 times now and feel that that’s enough for me.
1. Beauty and the BeastHow would you rank The Golden Mickeys, Believe, and Beauty & the Beast? Which one is your favorite and why? Least favorite and why? Any of them you consider "don't miss" or "skippable?"
Thanks!
I read somewhere that he was recently replaced with Captain Mickey now. They still have a Bob iger scene and it was never replaced during Chapek’s tenure
If you want to miss a show, personally I'd skip Beauty and the Beast. It was our least favourite, based on the live action movie. How would you rank The Golden Mickeys, Believe, and Beauty & the Beast? Which one is your favorite and why? Least favorite and why? Thanks, I read a review somewhere that said while the performance is good, there’s nothing new here, story wise . We’ve seen the Hollywood Studios version and the broadway production. This would just be more based on the live action movie. I’m thinking this is the least unique of the three. If you want to miss a show, personally I'd skip Beauty and the Beast. Believe is my favourite show across all the ships and Golden Mickeys is always great.
If you've seen those, it would be the one I would miss if you needed one free night. I've seen all three and the Broadway Show is by far superior. Enjoy. Thanks, I read a review somewhere that said while the performance is good, there’s nothing new here, story wise . We’ve seen the Hollywood Studios version and the broadway production. Oh no, now What Makes the Garden Grow is stuck in my head!!BATB is a similar (but shorter) version of the stage show. However it’s my second favourite show the ships have, although Frozen and Twice Charmed are close behind.
(My fave is Tangled.)
I like Believe, I think it’s solid except I could do without the How Does Your Garden Grow song.
Golden Mickey’s for me is a distant third. It’s very cheesy. I saw it last year on the Wonder for the first time in like 8 or so years and it didn’t improve so that’s it for a while for me.
