While we try to do WDW every year, we're debating if this year we should try US/IOA. Problem is...that this year we're traveling the week after Easter. :crazy2: Do you think it would be too overwhelming for a first visit during spring break when the lines are insane? FWIW, we'd be staying at Hard Rock.

No because you'll get free express passes, front of the line, by staying at the Hardrock so you should be fine. Trust me you will love it.

Agreed. With unlimited Express access (it's not called Front of the Line any more) wait times will not be an issue.

Will crowds decrease closer to 4/5,6,7 weekend. We're at the beach and flying out of MCO 4/8...debating to spend a day at Universal...one park. We've never been...

Thanks

Crowds will be pretty high that whole week until Sunday then it gets a little better but not by much.

While crowds can be pretty high, they never really match the Disney crowd level. Even without the Express Pass, I have no trouble going through the parks.
With that being said, Universal Studios is usually more tame than Islands of Adventure, simply because it has less rides, but I highly recommend going to both, Universal first, the Islands of Adventure.
