Hello:

We are going in June for our honeymoon, staying at AKL. I am happy with our decisions but don't know if Teppan Edo is worth it, although there are some great reviews. We made the following ADRs (are on DDP):

Sanaa - Dinner
Teppan Edo - Dinner
Jiko (using one TS and ordering apps OOP)
Sci-Fi lunch/50's Prime Time Dinner (Both OOP)
Narcoosees
Le Cellier - Dinner
Kona Grill - Dinner

Should we keep Teppan Edo or change it to Marrakesh, Tutto, or Boma? Do our other ADR's look good?

Teppan Edo is great, but you will be seated with other people. I don't know if you want privacy or not.

I would not pick Marrakesh. It was the worst food we have ever had at Disney - and we go a lot!

Boma is very good. It is nice to eat at the resort where you are staying (although you are already eating 2x at the AKL). Maybe someone can weigh in on Tutto - we haven't been there (yet).

Everything you picked looks great.

Have a great trip.

Thanks for the response. I don't think sharing the table will bother us if it is a fun experience.

We just returned from a wonderful stay at AKL (our first time). We ate at Boma and it was fantastic. It is buffet style, but the food was unique and delicious. As far as Teppan Edo, we have eaten there twice. It is like any Japanese hibachi restaurant...you are seated with others, they cook at your table, etc... Both times were yummy and lots of fun! I love Japan at Epcot, especially at night. If you don't often get a chance to eat this type of food, I don't think that you can go wrong. I personally would try to find a way to eat at Boma during your stay. It was our favorite meal of the trip! :lovestruc

I have not been to AKL yet (have always stayed at a Value) so I am excited! Assuming Sanaa's menu is good, would eating 3 times at AKL be too much?

Maybe I'm misunderstanding your post where you state that at Jiko you are using ONE table service credit and ordering apps OOP. You CAN order your apps oop if you are on the DDP and not the DxDP, but it will still require TWO credits for each person as this is a signature restaurant. As I said, I may have misunderstood what you were saying however.

I would stay with Teppan Edo. It is great food and entertainment. I can say that Boma is another good choice if you do not choose to keep TE.

My typo...we are using 2TS total so sharing an entree and getting apps.

YES, keep Teppan Edo. We ate there 2 weeks ago and the food was excellent.

In my opinion, the food at Teppan Edo -- and any similar teppanyaki style restauarant -- is not worth what is charged. You're basically paying for the "floor show" of watching the chef bang and clang and make a little volcano out of sliced onions. If you're on your honeymoon, I think you can entertain yourselves. I'd choose one of the others -- any of the others -- but Marrakesh might be the one to lean towards.

Yeah- I agree that it's good and yummy and if I had never been to a hibachi restaurant before- definitely worth doing! But if u went to a Japanese restaurant like that for every birthday/anniversary/report card reward lunch growing up like I did- it's just not something I wanna do at disney- cuz i can do it at home.

We had fun at Teppan Edo. The food wasn't as tasty as some of the Japanese places around DC, but it was still good. We kind of like being seated with other people; it's fun to get to know people.

During our last trip we sat with a family that was on its first trip to WDW and had fun talking with them and their kids about various attractions.

I have to disagree, I don't think it's overpriced. I had the Filet Mignon last time I was there, and they served alot of food for $29. Between the salad, rice, veggies, and beef, I was stuffed. I've paid alot more for a lot less food at many other restaurants.

We love TE- We've only had great experiences there and yummy food (something I can't say about other Disney restaurants). I once canceled a reservation there and the CM was like are you SURE? Even she was shocked someone would do that! lol

The price is actually very reasonable, especially for a Disney restaurant. I can't have enough of their teriyaki shrimp...YUMM!

BTW we went on our honeymoon, everyone was very sweet and it was a great experience!

You may want to consider adding Victoria and Alberts to your itinerary if you are up for the expense. It is a very memorable and romantic meal, and one of the best tasting ones I've ever had (we do it every year now!). Add a spa day and this for the night and you have a nice honeymoon break to your trip! :goodvibes

Please change it to Tutto. You can go to your local hibachi grille and get the same meal at home.

Teppan Edo is a keeper!:thumbsup2 The food is always yummy at teppaniaki! Compared to the others you listed, I would keep Teppan. Great atmosphere too :wizard:

Teppan Edo is a must do for us every trip. It is a beautiful restaurant with wonderful service and the food is very good. If you don't mind being seated with others, I would keep it.
Congratulations on your wedding.
