universal is running a great deal $79 pp for 7 days park admin,

we have been to disney 6 times int eh last 6 years, so i am thinking of switching it up. I was thinking of staying right on site of universal as well.

I don't plan to go to disney at all this way, since 2-3 day passes are alot of $.

do you think we will be dissapointed?

please tell me the pros, cons etc.

Thank you

Our family had been to Disney a few times and loved it. We were planning another trip in 2002 when I saw the prices of tickets at Universal so we decided to try it. I was actually nervous because I couldn't imagine going to Orlando and not visiting Disney. Well, we completely fell in love with Universal! The resorts are just as nice or nicer than Disney's deluxe resorts. The parks are as clean as Disney, the employees just as friendly. But nothing at Disney comes close to "front of the line" access for Universal resort guests. Just show your room key and you can enter in the Express line. You can ride your favorite attractions over and over and over. And since both parks and all 3 onsite resorts are within walking distance, it makes it easy to park hop or to go back to your hotel for some pool time or to rest.

We still love Disney, and we still go there, but Universal trips are different, more relaxed, more laid back. I feel more at home at Universal.

The only con we have with Universal is that we haven't found any table service restaurants that we are crazy about. I've heard great reviews about some TS restaurants from other folks (Mythos, Emeril's), but we haven't tried them because they weren't in our budget. So we tend to eat more counter service, or we go off property.

So, I don't think you'll be disapointed!

pros:
1. great hotels
2. front of the line is the best
3. dining reservations with your room key is a snap.
4. no down time waiting for buses, everything is so convenient
5. awesome rides
6. way more relaxing than disney

cons:
1. cant think of any yet.

I would suggest if you are going to Disney too that you do Disney first and then do Universal cause Universal is much more relaxing and a lot less hetic :thumbsup2

If you can't afford to do both, then I think you'll still have a great vacation at Universal. I'd recommend venturing outside of the area and trying some of the area restaurants as well. I love going to Universal and actually really enjoy going miniature golfing and hitting up some of the area shopping facilities as well. I think you'll have a great time, even if it is WDW free.

I think the tickets right now are such a good deal, a visit to Universal is hard to pass up.

Depending on when you go, the on-site stay could be a good deal as well. But since the Express pass is priceless to most people, it always seems like a good deal.

I say definitely give it a shot. You'll be paying less than half of a trip to Disney and you might find yourself having twice as much fun.

Never had a bad visit.Been here 8times and enjoyed every one.Espcially when we stayed on-site.:cool1:
