Hello,

We will be heading to Disney Nov. 30-Dec. 3rd. It is a short trip for me and my husband without the kiddo's. We are really excited and looking forward to the little getaway! :cool1:

Our first day will be more relaxing. We will sleep in a little (from our drive the night before) and then we are going to tour the resorts and look at all the Christmas decor. We will be going to the MK later on in the day for MVMCP!

I was really wanting us to try Kona...we have never eaten there before, but I have read great things about it. My question is should we do breakfast or lunch there and why???

Thanks so much for your replies...I am anxious to hear everyones thoughts! :scratchin

I've only been there for breakfast - twice. I just love their stuffed french toast!

Coffee's pretty good too ;)

We have eaten there many times, for breakfast, lunch & dinner. Let me just say I have never had a bad meal here. They have great breakfast items. I always get the pineapple juice, & I usually get french toast or pancakes. I have also had the Tonga Toast which is french toast stuffed with a banana, deep fried & rolled in a cinnamon sugar mixture. It was good, but way heavy!!! My DH loves the egg breakfast, I think it was called the calabash breakfast (sorry I can not really remember), but it has eggs, potatoes, & a breakfast meat. The prices are not bad either.

For the lunch/dinner choices, we have had burgers, the filet tips (which was awesome), my DH had Mahi Mahi (I think or some kind of fish) & he liked it too. They also have a great dessert selection. We have also went here just for dessert. I think it is definitely one of our favorite restaurants.

They serve breakfast pretty late---we had an 11:00 ADR the last time we were there. Loved it! Had the tonga toast (due to recommendations on the DIS). We were full until dinner time. I would happily do this again. :sunny:

We've had breakfast and dinner there - not lunch yet. I will say that breakfast is good but nothing special but dinner was excellent. Unique menu with great offerings and everything was delicious. Breakfast, with the exception of a handful of items that weren't impressive to us, is basic breakfast.

I think you'll be pleased with any of the meals; I'd do whatever fits best with your schedule! They do have the best coffee if you are a morning coffee drinker ;)

We will be there the same weekend as you and are trying Kona for the first time for breakfast...after reading all about Tonga Toast and Macadamia Nut pancakes it was a no brainer for me!

My DW and I have now had both breakfast and dinner at Kona. Both were excellent. Since I really enjoy breakfast, I would suggest breakfast. However, since it is December that you are there, the parks close earlier so you could go after the MK closes and take the monorail over after Wishes and get to see the Christmas decor without losing any park time. ;) We will be there about a week later than you and plan to go for breakfast. :) You won't go wrong with either.

I have only had dinner but I just have to say that it was THE best meal we have ever had at WDW so I would imagine that you can't go wrong with either choice and I have heard great things about the Tonga Toast! :goodvibes

Just back and had breakfast and dinner. Lunch on a previous vacation. Best breakfast of the vacation. I had the tonga toast, husband had the pineapple pancakes. Kids thought it was the best breakfast too. Dinner was also exceptional. It has been a couple of years since lunch, but as I recall it was nice get away from the park crowds and counter service meals. Enjoy yourself and if you can squeeze in 2 meals Kona's is the place.
