Should We Do Club Level?

Obsessing Over Our Disneymoon. One Day At A Time

We've gone to IOA for one day while on our honeymoon at Disney. So this will be our first time staying on site and going to US. We're either going to Universal either for our anniversary this year, December, or for DH's birthday in April. I know 2012 rates won't be avaliable until next month. However, I did price out our trip for December. We were looking at RPH and PBH. DH didn't care so I picked PBH because they have a separate tub and shower option for the deluxe rooms, although I do like the decor better for RPH.

So on to the question. Here's why I'm debating on club level. Yes we would probably use the gym, but that's $10 a day per person. I just don't know if we would use the lounge. When we go to parks we like to have an actual breakfast, not continental. We snack throughout the day and then we have dinner. We don't drink beer and we rarely drink wine. When we stayed at Disney our ADRs were for breakfast and dinner only and we had snack credit left over that we used for the plane ride home. Club level using December's prices is only $200 more. Is there a benefit to club level that I'm missing?

We don't do club either. We like the ability to choose what we want for breakfast. Also we snack during the day also and have a good dinner. We don't drink and normally bring a cooler with water and sodas anyways.

As for the gym we are You First gold members and get free access. I think if you sign up and have at least 2 stays to blue member you get that access. It's worth looking into if you visit more often. If not I would just pay the $10 and call it a day.:goodvibes

We loved club level. We enjoyed the breakfast, snacks, beer and wine. If you don't drink and your not going to utilize the breakfast. I really don't see any reason to stay club level. The kitchen has a nice breakfast buffet but it's expensive. The club level breakfast consisted of cereals, oatmeal, hardboiled eggs, assortment of pastries, juice and coffee. Eating breakfast at the kitchen every morning would have cost us about 50.00-60.00 so I was happy to have the continental breakfast. The gym would have cost us 20.00 a day. Sodas, snacks and alcohol another 40-50. Drinks are really expensive at the pool bar. We still went out to dinner, but the cl saved us some money in other ways.

Club Level at PBH is very, very nice. Much nicer than Club Level at any Disney hotel.

We loved PBH CL when we stayed there a year ago, and will be back soon. Can't wait.

We think it is worth it.

We are currently at RPH Club Level and we have found it to be worth it and we don't drink alcohol. We got here on Sunday and had a quick and light lunch at the airport. Then when we got here we had drinks and snacks. Later on we went back at dinner time and at dessert time also. The past two mornings we have had breakfast around 930 and kept us satisfied till 2 and we had a snack. We came back on Tue for dinner and today we had a early dinner at NASCAR. So we have found it worth it for us. We have only spent $30 on lunch on Monday (went for early entry to wwohp). And tonight's dinner $50

my thoughts only:

do december.
see the parks and hotels decked out.
it is awesome.

staying on site is good for both of those months.
with you onsite, you will miss line crowds for rides and shows by using the express lines.

Easter will hit us in April '12.
school breaks............lots of families.........lines for the restaurants.....and counter service......

try december instead. it will have crowds once it is Christmas time but early December is quite good. once it is the 25th, it will be crowded to the end of the month.

sounds like club is not the best choice for you. you would not be taking advantage of the amenities.

book a room and buy the park tickets separately.

if you were staying for a week, then club would be a nice touch for your celebration. you might have a day or two that you would start the park late.
you could take in the club breakfast fare then.

if you are staying a short time period, you would be spending most of your time in the parks, and city walk.
you would miss out on some the things that make it a plus to stay club.
