Should we be worried?

We recently closed on a resale of a contract stripped of 2012 points. Our contract just showed up in on the DVC system today, but is showing as 0 points remaining for 2013. I double checked the contract to make sure we were supposed to get points for 2013 and we are. Could there just be a lag in the system? it's a June UY, so I am worried that the seller borrowed the June 2013 points for a 2012 vacation, and the contract paperwork states that the timeshare sales agency is not liable for misrepresentations by the seller.

I think there is about a 24-48 hour lag, since the points have to be manually loaded by member administration. If they had borrowed 2013 points into 2012, the contract could not have been transferred to you without canceling that stay. That's why some resales stipulate that they can't close until a certain date -- they have to be the owner of the contract to complete a planned vacation before transferring the contract.

You should be OK, but keep a close eye on it. Congrats on your new points! Have a great time using them!!

thanks so much. this makes me feel better. I didn't realize the contract couldn't be transferred with an existing reservation.

I agree with KidianiFan08. You get into the DVC system and then couple of days later the points show up. It should be okay even if it is nerve wracking.

Congratulations and welcome home.

Setting up your account and then loading the contracts and points are done by different people at Member Accounting. Give them a few days for your file to move from desk to desk.

We closed a week ago and were able to get our Contract Number today. When I talked to Member Services they could see most of our details but 0 points. He said it's normal and just the "shell" is set up so far. Said it can take a couple days fo the points to be allocated to the account. Sounds like we are in the same situation and I'm not worried. Yesteday I was on their system but they couldn't give me a Contract Number... today I have that. Slow but steady wins the race.

My contract showed up and then the points showed up about 2 days later so I would not worry just yet.

I am sure that it is fine!

As said above, 2 step procedure. Your points will show up in subsequent use years a day or so after the contract is loaded.
Congrats on your new points!:goodvibes

Yep ours was like that too. Apparently it takes several different cast members to actually get the contract in the system. It also would have taken other paperwork if something was off about the points. One that we bought had points that were due to expire in the days before we were supposed to close so we never looked at them. Apparently the amount reported in our contract for those was off and Disney made us do a change form with the new number. Seemed really silly!

Our contract was in the system around noon on Monday (11/7). As of today, getting close to noon on Thursday (11/10), the points haven't been loaded, so it may take more than 1-2 days... At least this week it looks more like 3-4 days - but assuredly it will get done whenever someone gets tasked to take care of the pile of contracts in that folder on that desk over there... ;)

If by chance they still dont show up, they will honor what is in your contract.

Both my resale contracts that I purchased this year took about 5 days from the time when the contract showed up in my account until I could book the trips. It drove me nuts and I called MS every day, they didn't know what was going on either.
