Should This Solve our FP+ Problem?

So, last year when we went to Disney I managed both my in-laws reservation and ours. To get our FP linked I had to copy them to my MIL then sign into her account and copy them to FIL.

It was a PAIN, especially in the parks when I had to change reservations. Everyone ended up unlinked, or I could only make them for DD and myself, and all sorts of other craziness.

Luckily, it didn't impact things for the rest of the group too much as we were there during a low crowd time. I was the only one annoyed.

Anyways! I have since realized that FIL had no official MDE account and was just a "friend" of MIL. I made a gmail account for him and used that to make a MDE account. I linked him as family traveling together with everyone else's accounts. I also linked MIL to everyone in our family as previously she was just linked to me.

Now, when I sign into any of the 4 MDE accounts I now manage (me, DH, MIL, FIL) I see all 7 of us in each of the respective friend and family often traveling together lists with all the permissions granted for plans and photos.

Sorry for the long explanation, but does this mean that making and changing FP+ reservations should be easier this time around? Please tell me yes!

This sounds like it should work. My girlfriend and I linked our MDEs together (can't remember if as family or friends) but anytime we went to make a change to any of our reservations, the app asked who the change was for. Then we were able to select both of our profiles, either by pressing the select button next to both of our profiles or hitting the select all button on top, and make the change. Everything was really simple and pretty intuitive. I've read a ton of negative things about this new system on these boards and, honestly, I don't understand what all the fuss is about. It makes planning so much easier (which to me and my girlfriend is half the fun). We were able to go on our trip with no worries about waiting too long in line or not seeing/doing what we wanted to see/do. With the exception of TestTrack breaking down (two separate times) we had no issues with anything.

TL;DR - Yes, this should solve any troubles you may have had in the past.

Now when I went in April, I managed my husband, my daughter and my DD friends meals, FP+, etc. I never had to create an actual MDE account for each of them. I had them listed on my account as Friends/Family. And everything worked out fine. And I linked my account to my friends account and she was the only person who had an MDE account and had her DH, DD and DS. We managed everything together. So not sure why you would have had to create seperate MDE accounts for everyone. :confused3

But hopefully what you did, worked! :thumbsup2

Thank you! I am hoping this works to fix things. Having to copy so many times and log into multiple accounts to change for everyone was a pain.

It will work. You didn't need to make an MDE account for your FIL though, you could have just added them as a friend on your account.

Should work. As other stated you shouldn't have had to make an account for your FIL. I have my mom under me (she doesn't have her own account) and my cousin was able to link to me and friend both of us so we can make FP+ for everyone in our party (total of six of us with only two MDE accounts).

Hope it goes smooth this time for you!!

Thank you! I tried just adding him as a friend, but I kept on getting an error screen. Once I assigned an email/account to his icon it suddenly worked. Oh well. I would rather do extra work now than in the parks.
