Should the Tag Fairy be allowed to do this

Look, I know many of you have a beef with VH, and are enjoying this whole thing. To those of you who keep saying just delete it himself, how many times has he done that, just to have a new one appear? If this were any other poster this would never have happened. The TF would never have got sucked into playing such a childish game.

It is one thing to engage a poster in teasing. When it involves a scenario where one person has power that no one else has, it crosses the line into bullying.

This ridiculous nonsense can be stopped immediately by one person only. No matter how much you all enjoy any chance to put down VH, the TF has the power to put an end to it.

None of you will admit it, but you are all enjoying seeing this guy get what you believe to be his comeuppance. Not a one of you would support it if it were happening to anyone else.

Go ahead, flame away.

edited to add what I said on the DB many times. He only gets this attention when you give it to him. You could just ignore him you know.

Hey FIK! You know, I don't have a beef with VH. I do believe however that he has encouraged this bit of amusement for his own reasons. Some folks do not care whether they bring about positive or negative attention as long as they get some attention! IMO

I have no problems with VH/JJ, so don't assume I do. What I posted was in jest and I know he knew that. I really don't think he needs you to come to his defense, from what I can tell he is quite capable of defending himself.

I added the following as an edit to my post, but the thread is moving so quickly I am going to say it again.

All you have to do to someone you believe is seeking attention, is ignore them. Just as you would a child. How much fun would it be for him if people did not bite every time he casts? Attention seeking is a game that does not work if you end up playing alone. What is it about this guy that makes everyone fall into his trap each and every time?

The TF has a ball with me and I just love it. She/He made me smile many times when I had nothing to smile about.

I agree with Dan, communicate respectfully to the PTB in private and let your thoughts be known and that's it.

Well...you do have a point there...I think in this case it was just fun to see the TF have fun! There is such a "competition" for tags, that this was fun.

And...if VH had let it go, and just quietly deleted his (or her?) unwanted tags, and NOT posted publicly about it, I bet you ANYTHING no other tags would have ever shown up.

And it goes both ways, there are folks who are probably giggling away seeing VH get twisted over this, the same way VH is not happy unless he is getting other posters twisted over some nonsense or other. So I think if it needs to stop, there are TWO people that can put a stop to it, the TF, and VH.

I enjoyed watching the goings on, I'll admit it. Heck, I've done my share of posting on the thread. VH knew it was all done in fun and without malice.

If he didn't like it so much, he could've just let the thread die. But he didn't and he played along with it too, even making up his own tags to taunt the TF.

Someone likened it to watching a tennis match, and I agree with that statement.

I have no problems with VH. I think he's very capable of handling this on his own. I don't think he needs anyone to come by to his aid and rescue him.

Disagree. All VH has to do is erase and keep quiet about it. He's the one egging on the tag fairy. As for the posters being responisible for the Tag Fairy getting sucked in... please, Tag Fairy is an adult and can make his/her own mind up about what to do and whom to play with.

VH has the power too, he simply has to stop posting or starting Tag Fairy messages/threads. If he were truly sincere about being offended he would stop also. Others have accomplished that, Dan even gave him pointers for it.

I'm not enjoying him getting what you refer to as his comeuppance. I'm enjoying that the tone of his posting has changed drastically since the DB was closed. Instead of the kind of posts he put on there, he has shown his humorous side. It's almost like he has be infected by the pixie dust, instead of talking politics -- he's talking Tag Fairy and I think that's a vast improvement
