I have just realized that I will be arriving on the Saturday during Memorial Day Weekend in 2009, should I go ahead and book a room only and then when the package prices come out book my package? Do you think if I wait til the package prices come out in (August?) I'll have a problem getting rooms at the resort I want? (POFQ) I am new at this Disney planning thing so I don't really know how far in advance people book their vacations. My plan was to just book the package when the prices come out, I am already on my DU TA's list so she will notify as soon as they come out and we will book then, but I am wondering if since it is a holiday weekend I will run into any problems. We really can't change our dates due to school on on side and my daughter's third birthday on the other. Thanks for your help!!!

you will be fine. POFQ is not as large as POR - but it isn't small either.

lots of room. So wait until you here the package details.

We've always booked packages when they come out instead of booking room only... then again, our resort choice has never been vitally important. In some situations, resort rooms available with package discounts are limited and therefore you may not get the resort your most interested in. Booking a room only reservation is a great way to ensure your at the resort you want.

Discounted Packages for May won't likely come out till January/Feb of 2009. Room rates for 2009 will come out around August. When you book a room only package now, the 2008 prices (or suggested 2009 prices) will be applied to your reservation. Your responsible for paying the first night plus tax as a deposit at the time of reservation. When 2009 are officially released, the difference in price will be applied to your reservation.

Now if your just looking to book a general MYW package in August when rates are released you shouldn't have a problem.... perhaps calling CRO instead of booking online would warrant your best results. Unless your looking to add on the Disney Dinning Plan, you could book room only and buy MYW tickets... the price would be identical.

I've read great things about DU so I would keep my faith and trust your agent.

I was just able to book a trip for May 24th to the 31st, with Memorial Day on the 26th online for next month and was able to book POFQ in standard, water, or king. As you can see... you shouldn't have too much of an issue for next years!
