I love all of it but the cockroaches. As someone who lives in Florida, that freaked me out.

ETA - To be fair, they are singing and dancing cockroaches, but I just close my eyes during that part.
I was just about to say that! I didn't NOT remember that scene when I first watched it and after moving to FL I saw that and thought "oh my god I would die if that happened in my house"

I read that Disney's own version of the seven dwarves will be in the movie. Not sure how that's going to mean animated dwarves or what.

It could be worse. It could be the cockroaches from the movie Cats (2019) *shudders*

I had originally in my post a lot more, but then condensed it.

Can we say that out of wicked stepmothers in movies, this stepmother has one of the best dresses? Although Cate Blanchett in the Cinderella remake comes in at a close second. I want to put Anjelica Huston third, but that is mainly because of her performance in Ever After.

Watching the old one right now. Really don’t remember much, watching the pigeons and rats in the Happy Working Song. Oh, there are the roaches in the tub! I lived in a few roach infested apartments in my younger days. So friends, even though you’re vermin…😁

and Peter Pettigrew in Nathaniel!

I probably wouldn’t mind the roach scene if it weren’t for something that happened the day we moved to Florida. Coming from the Midwest, we had never seen a palmetto bug before (the Tyrannosaurus Rex of roaches). I was the first person in the house, and needed to use the toilet. I turned on the faucet to wash my hands afterward and a three inch long bug crawls out of the overflow hole into the sink. I didn’t even turn off the water. I just ran screaming from the bathroom and we went to the store to buy multiple cans of bug spray. I didn’t sleep that night either. I still shiver thinking about it and that scene takes me right back. :scared1:

I won’t talk about the day I learned they can fly . . .

We rewatched Enchanted a few days ago, in anticipation of the new movie. Enchanted is wonderful, maybe even better than I remembered it.

But Disenchanted? There's a reason this movie didn't get a theatrical release and I'm surprised they didn't just bin it. It's unwatchable.

Eh... I'm watching Disenchanted and it's not very good.

But before I forget: The animation part is definitely not good. It's ugly. Those long necks? What's up with that?

I know Idina Menzel has a great voice, but she is not playing a character that deserves this song.

Some other thoughts I had:
- It's too long. Way too long. After 50 minutes we get to point
- It's like they wanted to do too much. Giselle turning into a wicked stepmother (which is a good trope to make fun of) would have been enough.
- I do not believe that after 10 years in New York city Giselle still has to learn 'sarcasm'.
- The references feel forced, most forced were the three fairies. Who were useless to the plot. But also putting the two ladies in waiting in Anastasia and Drizella's colours. It's not necessary.
- The baby is actually useless to the plot. They could have done without the baby andd say the wand is a housewarming present
And moving for the baby... that wouldn't be an issue for a year or two, when it actually starts running and going to school, that would be a good moment to move to an environment with more space. And there was absolutely no reason not to wait another month to move after the house was fixed.
- I hate that they decided to have Malvina and Giselle make up at the end.
- I would have loved if they had made Pip do magic with the wand. Eventhough he is a chipmunk, he is a son of Andalasia. He should have been able to do magic.
- They seriously underused James Marsden.
- Same for Patrick Dempsey who has a very thankless role and if he wasn't in it... would he be missed?
- For Malvina and Nancy, what's with the fringe in their hair cuts? Is it ever a good look on a woman of a certain age? Both women looked worse due to the ugly haircut.
There were plenty of opportunities to make something good out of this, but this wasn't it.

I liked Amy Addams, but she didn't have the best material to work with. Most songs are forgettable.
It looks nice and it has some fun moments.
I laughed out loud once, but I already don't remember anymore what it was at.

WDW really should have an Andalasia restaurant in Fantasyland.
My understanding is that the main actress had it in her contract that nothing of her likeness could be used by Disney-no dolls, princess Giselle in the parks, t-shirts, etc. But even as I'm writing this, I just can't believe Disney would allow this clause. It just baffles me that there's no acknowledgement of that movie anywhere.

I remember hearing that back around the time the original movie came out. I agree it's odd.

It is not the worst, there are some fun scenes. But it is a very vague shadow of Enchanted.
I agree that it’s not the worst and had some fun scenes. I am disappointed though. Enchanted was SO good.
