Should I wait-list AKV Jambo or Kidani?

Hi all. We have planned a last minute trip to Disney and got the first three nights at OKW. I have a regular reservation for AKL for the last two nights for $500! I called today to wait-list AKL (I'll have to borrow 7 points from the points we get in Dec but 7 points is better than $500!) and I had the option of Kidani or Jambo. I'd prefer Jambo overall, but would rather Kidani than paying $500.

My question to you is does anyone know how many Standard Studio Jambo and Kidani have? Does Kidani have so many that I should switch my wait-list to Kidani?

TIA

Jen

Edit: The wait-list arrival date is the 20th and it will be dropped on the 13th (I think) and that is the same day that I have to cancel the regular cash ressies. So I'll only have the wait-list for less than a week.

You are allowed 2 active waitlists. Do you have another one for another time? If you have to chose, I would pick Kidani because there are many more there, but I do not know the exact number.

I was recently on a waitlist for 1 night at BCV studio, and I got it in less than a week....and it's for February 21st. I hope you're as lucky as I was.

I knew I wanted to edit to add something else! I already have a wait-list for a 1BR Value for our May trip. I have the rest of the nights but that one, so I don't want to change that wait-list. I had thought about cancelling that wait-list and doing both Jambo and Kidani and then re wait-listing for the 1BR but I don't want to change my "place" in line.

I had the option today when I called to book the last two nights at OKW but I didn't take it. We used to stay at AKL before DVC all the time and then stopped once it was our home resort. :confused3 We had bonus points to use at SSR and then just didn't plan it out right to get to AKV. PLUS we keep saying we are going to try the DxDP and never do. With our trip broken up into two ressies we'll be able to try it for three days and see if we like it or not without doing it for a whole week!

Thanks for the response. To simply answer your question, I already have a wait-list for a May trip.

I don't blame you for not wanting to give up your place for the one night, and the value 1 bedrooms save lots of points. I've had one. :goodvibes

You could also, just keep calling to see if a Kidani studio opens up. For a studio, I too would prefer Jambo.

Just wanted to follow this up. I changed my wait list from Standard Jambo to Standard Kidani.

I called the other day to check on AKV Jambo and there were two night AKV Jambo Value so I scooped them up and had them cancel the wait list for Kidani.

There are even fewer Value rooms so really, there is no rhyme or reason to picking a wait list.

I've gotten a value studio at the very last minute, too! I suppose lots of people don't care about the small point cost but they are more interested in view or having a larger villa. I've always been pleased with the values. Good for you!

Thanks Bobbi. I have us booked in a 1BR Value in May for 5 nights and then I have us in a Value Studio for 5 nights in Oct. There are 4 of us: Me, DH, my 10 DD and 4 DD so I think staying in a value studio for two nights will let us judge whether we can do it for 5 nights. :)

Having just stayed at Kidani and we loved the resort but I think the next time we will definately stay at Jambo. I like the grounds there better, the lobby, the option of having CS dining and not having to either walk or take the bus.
