Should I upgrade to the Deluxe Dining Plan?

I was trying to figure out the same thing but since only three of us it would only be another 80.00 a day however is it worth it. This is what we have planned.

11-27 - Arrive - Dinner at T- Rex (not on plan)

11-28 - Breakfast at Chef Mickey's 8:10am
Lunch at Tony's town Square at 2:15pm
Dinner at Ohana - at 9:20pm (DH favorite and wants this twice)

11-29 Lunch Le Cellier Steakhouse at 2 pm - dining package for Candlelight
Dinner at Via Napoli at 7pm

11-30 Breakfast at Tusker House at 9:20am
Dinner at Ohana at 5pm (2d trip for DH)

12-1 Lunch at Sci Fi Dine-in theater at noon
Dinner at Prime Time Cafe at 8pm however considering switching to Narcoosee's at 8:40pm. I really like it last trip

12-2 Dinner at Fultons Crab house (not on plan but meeting friends in area)


12-3 Lunch at Mama Melrose at noon.

So for the experenced is it worth the extra money.

I would go with the DDP the first time to see how you like it. At worst, you pay OOP for another meal or two, but that wouldn't put you over what you are spending for the deluxe. We did the DDP last time we were there and it was plenty of food and I like to eat! We got to do 4 character meals and eat at some other nice restaurants for a break in the day. We used snack credits for a muffin for breakfast some days and bought some fun snacks other days. I actually ended up with 1 QS and 3 snack credits left at the end of our 8 day trip, so I bought someone else's meal and spent the left over snack credits on things to take on the plane.

My main reasoning in not going deluxe is that I don't want to spend that much time at TS meals and I knew my DD5 wouldn't either! We spent time in the parks, but she also wanted to swim at WL, so there just wasn't a lot of time left over for 2 TS meals a day.

If you start with DDP this time, you'll know for future trips if it is enough for your family, but if you start deluxe, you could end up regretting it and losing out on a LOT of money that could be spent elsewhere. Or, you could make my mistake with going with a deluxe resort the first time on property and getting spoiled that it is hard to do without it!
