Should I solo?

I began traveling solo after an unhappy group trip.

Ditto- I have been on family trips and friends trips. Even when everyone gets along some drama still seems to come up! And when they don't ... If you ever saw a group of people screaming at each other about which fast pass to get when that may have been my family... Even on those trips I tend to find a time to slip away and either have a meal on my own or ride a few rides. Those times on my own are usually the best parts of my family/ friends trips. Hope everyone has happy magical trips!

I am an only child so while I have to be outgoing at my job, I am in favor of a lot of private time.
I sooo relate to this! I too grew up an only child, now I live alone in RL also, and am very very content with my own company. :goodvibes

For those of you who are interested, here is the link for the PTR I just started for my solo trip!

Best Way to Cure Disney Depression? Plan Another Trip! A Solo PTR

It isn't very interesting yet, but I promise it will be once the planning ball gets rolling a little more!
Yaaaay! I'll check it out. I figure I'll likely try doing a PTR for my 2015 trip when I get back from my upcoming trip this month (16 days, OMG!!!), while also working on a TR and a Dining Report for this year's trip. :hyper:

I'm going solo too for the first time in Oct. I was really nervous at first but threads such as these have given me confidence and now I am excited about going. I have thought of a lot of great reasons why going solo is better anyway like riding Winnie The Pooh over and over and over and dining at Cinderella's Royal Table, and getting to rope drop every day if I want. I can watch Wishes every single night if I want and I can spend 4 days in the Magic Kingdom or all 10 if I want! I am very shy and introverted but I am ok with doing this trip alone now. I did a lot of solo park touring on the trip that my hubs accompanied me on since he wanted to sleep and hang out at the pool bar and I wanted rope drop. As a compromise, he slept in and I did rope drop, toured parks alone, and gathered FP's and then we met for lunch, he rode some stuff with his FP and spent the evenings together. This is sort of like that only we'll be in contact via phone/text/snapchat, etc. This is my first solo trip anywhere ever. I feel quite safe at WDW on property, but the only ones who will know I am solo is here on this board. I hope to make some DISfriends so I can at least have some park experiences with someone who really 'gets it' like only a DISlover does. It's more fun to share the joy.

Cin when in October are you going?

I'm also going in October. I will be with DH the first 4 nights for ToT, then he's coming home and I will be solo for 3 more nights:cool1:. I can not wait!!!! I have had some sporatic solo park time on previous trips, but I was really with other people for most of it, and am so excited to get to do my own thing for 3 whole days:dance3:

I'm pretty introverted as well and am happy to keep to myself, but if a conversation happens, I won't shy away (unless they're really creepy;)).

I'm struggling with making solo ADRs. I am probably going to make 1, just to prove to myself that its not as bad as I think (not character, that's a whole nother step). Possibly Yak/Yeti or Coral Reef. Part of me wants to be unencumbered by any ADRs, so I might just wait to see whats available the day of.

I do currently have the villian soiree booked, but I'm probably going to cancel that. I only booked it because I didn't want to be sorry later that I didn't have it booked.
