Memory Maker is currently $150 for advanced purchase, so we have the money now for it but not visiting until October. Should I buy it now whilst exchange rate is pretty good and they haven't increased the price yet (like the park entrance and parking) :confused3

what would you guys do?

It isn't going to get any cheaper and, like you say, the exchange rate is good so why not :thumbsup2

Looked at ordering ours today, and get the option of Will Call (free) or delivery ($25)... What is actually shipped? Is it worth it or just waiting to pick up?

Are you staying off-site? I believe, if so, it is a card. If not, it can be added to your MagicBand. I would opt for WillCall - not worth the $25 for shipping, in my opinion.

On site. I'd assumed it'd just be linked to our bands automatically, but I don't know. Is Will Call only at parks? It sounds like we can't get it at our resort, but I don't get why...

It should link to your bands automatically. If you go through the MDE links it will add to your MDE account. If it doesn't link, you can do that manually as you would with tickets or a reservation. Once it's in your account it should be accessed via the band, assuming the app is actually working when you need it to.

If onsite, then there is nothing to receive. Are you ordering it from within MDE? I chose willcall for mine and the next time I logged in, it had linked by itself. You get an order number which you can use to link it if it doesn't happen automatically though.

Do you get a different exchange rate if using a credit card then?

Thanks for all the other tips about buying through mde :thumbsup2

Yes, you get the interbank rate which is higher than the high street rate. Check what the forex fee is though unless you have one that offers no fee on foreign transactions. I use my fee free card to purchase in $$ to avoid the charges and still get the better rate. FairFX if you have one is a good bet too if you top it up when the rate is good.

Hi - I am thinking of getting mine today for our August trip. We are staying offsite how does the memory maker work do I get an email and exchange it for a card in the park? Thank you :)

Yes, you will be given a reference number. The Email will tell you where you can pick up your Memory maker (likely to be guest relations).

I have a photopass plus - can I upgrade this to MM?

I believe that PP+ has just been replaced with MM so you should have the option of switching to Memory Maker. The only difference, though, is that you don't get the CD (or prints at character meals) with MM, it's all digital downloads.

They have as yet not made a way to do a direct switch. When I emailed them they told me I have to return my unopened CD and unused voucher and they would process a refund within 21 days of receipt. I could then purchase MM separately. I have decided to keep PP+ and take the CD with the photos that comes with it.

Honestly, if it isn't easy (or possible) to do a direct switch then I would do that too.

I must admit I was irritated initially, because I'd just ordered and received mine when the change came into effect and they had started pre charging for the shipping of the CD when placing the order. So the notion of sending it back at my expense gave me a bit of an attitude, lol. However when I read up carefully about MM it is the same product and the redemption process is exactly the same so having the CD to me is now a bonus, rather than taking the approach that I can't have the same thing with a different name :rotfl:

Sorry to jump on this thread with what may seem like the dumbest question ever but am I definitely right in thinking MM is the only photo package you can now purchase where before you could choose either PP or PP+?? We used PP+ last time but I wasn't sure whether or not to bother this year and MM has come in recently so I feel as though I have to start researching all over again rather than just reverting to my trusty "Disney Planner" from last trip :(
