should I pay for my trip now?

I'm going in mid-August, have paid my deposit, and need to pay the rest by the end of June. Do you think the loonie will go higher before then, or is it more likely to drop? I'm considering paying it now while the rates are good (much better than when I paid my deposit!) but maybe I should hang on in case it goes even higher?

What do you think is going to happen?

I just paid $1000 2 weeks ago because it had come back some. You may want to at least pay part. I want to wait til June 11th if possible since that delays credit card payment til late July.

We've already paid for our July trip, but for our spending money I'm buying it in chunks, just in case the dollar goes up or down drastically.

I paid $1000 a few weeks ago when the dollar got up to .86, but as it seems to be on an upward swing I'm going to wait now. My final balance is due in July and I think it will be higher by then. It is closely tied to oil prices and they are increasing.
Just checked again, and overnight trading has it at 89.63:thumbsup2

I've already paid my resorts, but going to add on the DDP in June when AP rates come out. I'm also buying $100 USD every pay day. Price averaging I guess!

FWIW, on March 25, 2009 we had $1.00USD = $1.226 CAD. On April 28, 2009, $1.00USD = $1.207CAD. On May 27, it was $1.00USD = $1.136CAD.

These are straight currency conversions, and no credit card charges, etc. are included.

Based on this, if moi was paying the tab, I'd leave it to the absolute last minute.

Jim.

My thinking on this point is if it goes to 10cents I am paying the balance remaining on my November cruise/WDW stay. I wish I had paid more when we booked the cruise in summer 2008 as the dollar was at par!:confused:Oh well, famous last words! Here's hoping the loonie continues to climb!
