Should I pay for baggage or shipping?

I need help. We are flying to Disney for the first time this year. I am spoiled because I am use to bringing anything I want. We are a family of 4-kids 7 and 9.

1- Should I pay for baggage or shipping? We are flying Allegiant and have to pay $19 for each small carry-on. I could ship stuff to Disney but am nervous because I have never done that.

4- What is the best/cheepest shipping company to use, UPS/USPS/???

3- What are "my can’t live without items"?

4-do you have any trick for fitting more into the suitcase?

Thanks

Shipping can get really expensive. I'd rather pay to check a bag.

Do a Google search for packing tips. I like to roll items rather than fold them. I can do 2 weeks with a carry-on only!

I am not familiar with the airline you are using, but what do they charge for regular (large suitcase). If you are going to pay 19 for a carry on, or 25-35 for a checked bag, it would make sense to just use 2 large suitcases. That would be cheaper than 6 carry-ons.

I would just pack all your important stuff (electronics, meds, etc..) in 1 carry on and then check a couple of large suitcases.

I'd ship just because I wouldn't want to give the greedy airline the money. Baggage fees are bad enough (and why we almost always fly Southwest), but charging for carry ons is ridiculous.

We mailed two boxes our last trip. One to the Dream and the other to CBR. Both were mailed a week and a half before our arrival on the same day. The one to the hotel never made it. It had our Halloween/pirate costumes and some of our FE gifts for the ship. Lesson learned. I would rather pack an extra carry on than loose my stuff in the mail.

The package to CBR arrived the day after we left on our Disney Cruise and the people at Disney sent the package to our hotel after the cruise. But it was too late because we needed everthing for the trip.

Packing wise you only really need 4-5 different outfits depending on the length of your stay. We had two pairs of shorts, 2-3 tops, a dressy outfit, 2 swim suits, one pair of pjs, and pants, sandals, and I wore the tennis shoes. We come from cold weather but I had my family wear a spring coat on board.

There are washers on site if you need clean clothes. Most of the time when not in the parks we were in the pool. My youngests clothes were packed in with our clothes and my oldest daughter had her own suitcase.

I carried a carryon with swim suits, the electronics, and things we needed for the day. I also kept our travel documents in our carryon.

USPS was the cheapest carrier but I recommend getting insurance!

PS we ordered from Garden Grocer. I did bring instant oatmeal with me from home. They deliver directly to your resort and you don't even have to be there when they deliver your order. That way I didn't have to pack it or ship it.

We usually send down a box of food. I send it about a week before via fedex. I usually find them to be cheaper than usps . I have been told not to send packages down through usps because it will go to a central mail facility. Ups and fedex deliver right to the resort.

We do the same thing. It is so worth it with children to have their favorite snacks, cereals, glow sticks, etc. I don't want to waste my time at Dis in the grocery store!
