Should I or shouldn't I

Too much indecision over this DDP than one should. My husband and I will be in Disney 12-14 to 12-17 to celebrate our anniversary. Aren't bringing the kids, planning on golfing and enjoying the Christmas atmosphere. We got the free DDP and for some reason I thought we would be able to have all the meals covered. Well, we want a nice meal for our anniversary which will take 2 credits (planning on Fulton's), plus really wanted to do the candlelight package so I feel like I need to spend 2 credits to guarantee a seat. There goes our 4 in two meals.

Should I or shouldn't I spend the 2 for the candlelight package? :confused3Can we see the event if we don't get seats, or will it not be as busy that week that we probably would get a seat without purchasing the package? My other thought is to not use the 2 credits and just pay for the meal.

Are you staying 3 nights or 4 nights? Would upgrading to the Deluxe plan be an option? It is around $34 per night per person and that would allow you to do another signature plus take care of all your other meals.

You can probably get seats without the pkg, but it will require waiting for a longer period of time or taking your chances. You can also "see" without seats at an outside table over at Liberty Inn. We did that one year when we knew the kids wouldn't want to sit for the whole thing. By "see" I mean you can see the people, but it's not a great view and I think you miss the effect. You can hear the music without any problem, but the narration does get a little lost.

Some of the less expensive lunch packages for CP may be a better deal paying cash than spending two credits. If you choose a lunch package, your only show option is the first show.

We will be there 4 nights. Didn't think about doing a lunch option. We will be golfing 2 or 3 days tho and that will be over the lunch time so probably won't work for us.

We upgraded to the Deluxe plan when we went for our Anniversary last year sans children. It was wonderful. We at dinner at a lot of signature places. As far as the Candlelight Processional, I think it really depends on who the narrator is. We went around the same time as you two years ago and actually stood in the back outside of the theater and could see/hear just great. I know quite a few other people got seats without the dining package but my DS was asleep in his stroller so we just hung back and chilled.

Have a great trip!

I think when I first made the reservations I asked about upgrading the DDP but since we are getting free DDP I don't think we were able to pay the difference to upgrade. Does that sound right?

You should be able to pay the difference and upgrade to DxDDP. Call again.

Depending on where you were planning to eat for the Candlelight Processional, just that OOP cost will almost pay for two days of the upgrade, so I say, go for it!.

Yup....we paid the upgrade. Looking at my paperwork, I believe it was $34 a night to upgrade. It might be different now. You get an app and dessert with the meal with the DxDDP. We ate at some really great places. The Yachtsman was our favorite.

When you call, make it clear to the agent that you ONLY want to upgrade the dining plan. Not the room, or the resort.

Regular to deluxe upgrade in 2012 non-peak is about $34 per adult per night. I think it's actually $33.98 or something like that. If you are staying 3 nights that is in total about $102 per person to upgrade.
