Should I make the call - or shouldn't I?

I haven't liked Crayola in quite awhile. Not since I got my hands on Prang. :)

Call 'em! What if they are keeping a list of complaints, and when it reaches, say, 1000 they'll do something about it. What if they're at 999 right now? See what your call could do?:upsidedow

I think that is a great hobby. If you have the spare time to call what can it hurt? I wouldn't let on to DGD that you are unhappy in any way though. The changes in the crayons are probably due to some bureucratic crap and regulations or just to save on the cost of them and they are not going to change, but still it makes me feel good to speak up for myself (in a nice way) and get it off my chest.

I would call as well. They wouldn't have put the number on the box if they didn't want to hear from people.

And when I worked at a newspaper, one of the photographers, when she was feeling a little stressed, would get out her crayons and color. I can see her now sitting at her desk with her crayons and coloring book.

If a product does not live up to our expectations, then call. Frankly, if you're uncomfortable, don't say that you were using them and they don't seem right...say you and DGD were coloring and you noticed this and that. Heck, is there a grandma on the planet that hasn't colored with their grandkids at some point or other? Do they expect that a 6 yo is going to call or the adult in their life?

I agree that they had to have changed the formula, probably for environmental and cost purposes. I remember as a little girl that the Crayolas were the best...now I notice that they simply aren't any more.

And I'm 47 and am great at keeping inside the lines!

Ack! I hate to hear this as I have always thought Crayola was the best. We tried Rose Art when DD was little and they were quite "yuck" and I never buy Rose Art crayons anymore. I just bought DD the pack of 24 for .25 at Walmart for her beach trip (sure enough, a group of 16-18yo girls were coloring on that trip, lol). I'll have to go see what those are like.

I did notice that Walmart had a new brand they were carrying but I don't remember the name! Hmm...

Please update when you call, I'm wondering what they'll tell you!

I would call

It honestly could be a new recipe that failed-or a mistake in the making process that they have to look into

Thats why they want feedback from the consumer:)

Make the call!

I'm subbing to this thread because I want to hear how your conversation with their rep. goes on Monday. :goodvibes

Hm, I'm curious about what they say to you.

About a year ago I bought a ton of Crayola crayons when I started working as a mobile therapist. Interestingly the only one of my patients who was interested in coloring with me was a 17 year old girl. She and I would sit and talk through all our sessions while we colored. The pack I bought was fine to me, but I wonder now if it's just because I haven't used the older ones in so many years.

BTW, I found tons of coloring pictures online -- many of which related to Disney AND the parks! That girl and I had a blast with those. Just google adult coloring pictures and you'll find a ton. I wish I still had the links to those sites to give you.

I love to color as well! Don't we all, really? I have a huge tub of crayons from about 20 years ago that my mom used when she was a pre-school teacher and I'm still using them! I've added some over the years from my own kids, but it's the best bucket of fun!

I would also make the call. I'm "that" kind of person :) I would be nice about it, and not demand a new box or anything, but you'd be surprised at what a nice phone call can get you. With no expectations, I've gotten coupons for free chicken, $$ off chicken, same for hair products, drink mixes, you name it. If I have a question or a comment, I'll call. I figure they want my $$ so they want to know what I think, because if I think something is not right with the product, I won't buy it again.

PS
my mom, who is in her 70's, still puts a coloring book & crayons in our Christmas stocking (and my dad puts one in hers) and I put them in my kids stockings as well! (my kids are 18 & 21). Wouldn't be Christmas without 'em!

I love to color it is so fun!! I am very picky about my crayons, and colored pencils I keep the colors seperated to find easier.

OT; I found some Disney coloring books at the thrift store they had never been colored in and they were dated 1977, I do plan to color them, or make copies and color those and not the book.

I so love to color too! I just picked up a coloring book in Disney for a friend's daughter and regret I didn't get one. My other coloring hobby is using rubber stamps to make cards. I love ones that you can stamp the image in black and color with pencils, chalk etc. It is nothing fancy but I love it.
