Should I give up my 7DMT FP?

I need some advice. We booked this trip late and when I went to get fastpasses online, the only time on 12/30 I could get 7 Dwarves Mine Train was 10:35-11:35 pm. Since it is so late, I won't be able to get any paper fastpasses after that. My other ones expire at 1:35pm. So, should I exchange the 7DMT to something else earlier and take my chances I can get a paper fastpass for later that day to that ride? Is it really worth it? We've never been on it. Any advice? what would you do?

I personally would be stalking the site trying many times a day for an earlier time for that ride, lol! Good luck!

If your going to be at the park at that time, then keep.it,it's pretty hard to get any decent fp after lunch when its busy, since pretty much all the good rides are used up for the day.
However if ur not then get there at rope drop make it your first ride and then move on to other rides,
It's by no means worth anymore then a 20 min wait IMO,it's way too quick over and done with type of ride it's like you blink and it's finished.

December 30 is in the middle of the most crowded week at WDW. I would hang on to the FP of you wish to ride 7DMT without waiting extremely long. Plus the 4th+ FPs will probably pretty crappy that time of year.

I wouldn't even plan on being able to get a 4th FP after 1:30 on that day. Keep what you have.

If I were you I'd keep it. We went during that Christmas week a few years ago and it was crazy busy. It wasn't even fun to be at the parks during the middle of the day. We spent our afternoons at the resort and than headed back to the parks late to avoid the crowds. One night we arrived at the MK around 11pm and stayed until 3 am. It was great! I'll add we were a group that included kids age 4-9 and I am not a late night person. I'm in bed by 9:30 every night. It was just so crowded those EMH from midnight to 3am were the only time you could enjoy the park. You can take a long break and then head back to MK for your 7DMT FP and stay late. It might work out better having that late FP.

First of all, there are no more paper FPs. You can go to a kiosk with your MB after your first 3 have been used and get an FP, but on 12/30 at 1:35 your options would be some serious slim pickings.

I would keep your 7DMT and stalk the 7DMT cancellation thread and MDX for a better time.

ETA: Yes, 12/30 is an EMH. If you plan on staying very late you'll be able to ride 7DMT in the wee hours stand-by.

I like this idea but I'm afraid that on the 30th and 31st, the parks will close early due to the crowds and I don't want to not be able to get back into the parks.

Don't worry about it. Take your break and go back in for the FP+ and the fireworks.

Here is a link to the phases of park closures: http://www.wdwmagic.com/park-closing-phases.htm

The same website shows that back in 2012 the MK closed at Phase 2 at about noon and reopened at 1:00 pm. In 2013 the MK was at Phase 2 a little earlier at 11:00 but reopened at about the same time. I *always* go to the MK on 12/30 and I have NEVER had a problem getting back into the park in the early evening.

If you really feel you HAVE to go on this ride then just keep the FP. We were there in August and this tide was the biggest let down. You can always try for something else and let go of this one. Either way its Christmas at Disney nothings bad.:cool1:
