Should I get memory maker?

We have a ton of Meet & Greets, we don't usually have the park photographers take pictures more then twice a trip... my husband is not a fan of it but with all the meet and greets it could possibly work out?

Right now I have A&E, Belle's Cottage, Tinker Belle, Mickey, Aerial, Rapunzal and Ashukra's palace (sp!).

this may be an extremely amateur question but how did you secure meet and greets? I'm planning our first trip for February and my daughter is OBSESSED with Rapunzel. While it would be nice to meet the other characters, I know that meeting Rapunzel would make her heart swell.
I was under the impression you just had to track them down during the day but would love any tips you have on securing a meeting!

Definitely. I think the majority of our pictures were from meet and greets and I liked that I could participate in them instead of hanging back to get pictures. The PP photographers did a great job capturing a lot of moments I wouldn't have either. If you can get a couple of pictures with each park icon along with all of the meet and greets it should be worth the money. Also, even if DH doesn't want to stop for pictures, would he let you stop to get the kids pictures?

Some you have to track down and wait in line for...most of these characters will be on the times guides that can be picked up in the parks. In addition, you can visit Kenny the Pirate's site for character meet locations. Others characters (including Rapunzel) have meet and greets that FP are available for. Other than that, you can also schedule character meals where 4 or 5 characters come to your table while you eat- a little expensive, but it saves the time and hassle of standing in line to meet characters and you have to eat anyway!

Do you want the whole family in all the pictures? If so, I'd say go with Memory Maker. If you're okay taking pictures of just the kids than I don't think it's worth it.

I'm a single mom who travels with my son so I like it so I can be in pictures.

We happened to 'win' the Memory Maker (we actually won PhotoPass+ which isn't available anymore) for our trip and I personally see it as something we will never go without in the future. It was so nice to walk up to a photographer and get our entire family's pictures taken together, scan our bands and we were off! Very fast, very worth it. Plus we have all the pictures of the meet and greets, not just the posed ones but the photographers take pictures of the kids interacting with them too.
I'm not sure I'd get it *just* for the meet and greets and my husband was also not too fond of stopping to get pictures at first but once he realized how fast it went, he did it...for me I'm still bummed it was raining on our HS day so we actually didn't get any pictures that day except our ride ones.

well the thing is I can still use my band to have pictures taken, I guess the question is will I want to get $150 in pictures THEY take. Your responses have convinced me a bit though but I've read online it takes 3 days for memory maker to work so I guess its too late for me to get it online now.

We opted to go with the memory maker because we all want to be in the photos!

Depending on party size and photogs you stop at, it may be worth it.

We had a party of 15, and ended up with 76 photos. In all honesty, this was probably on the lower end as the majority of folks didn't want to stop for group photos often. My wife and I agree that in a smaller group, we would have been much more likely to stop and get pictures taken.

One thing of note, we only paid for one MM package for all 15 of us. The thing to remember is to have everyone who is in charge of room MB's or has their own MDE account has to edit their Photopass preferences to allow friends and family to see and purchase their Photopass photos for it to be fully taken advantage of. We were able to view and download ride photos that weren't appearing on other family members' pages because of this.

We went in May without it and I was glad we didn't get it. We did get two pictures but only spent around $30 on downloading two of our favorite pictures. My husband and I took turns using our camera during the start of character meet and greets then for many characters we handed our camera to the Disney photographer or a CM and they took the picture of all of us. We got plenty of pictures taken with our camera. Our problem isn't that my husband hate stopping but that my son doesn't like smiling for pictures. So a lot of the posed pictures he's making faces the candid shots we got were much better.

I am planning on getting it. I recently read that the memory maker package includes ride photos and now ride videos. This is our first time going to Disney & we don't have a nice camera of our own. I would like to have as many photos as possible so I can make a scrap book with my kids afterwards. I don't plan on buying many souvenirs & I doubt we'll be going back anytime soon. But I thought it would be neat to have the ride videos as well to share with our family who would love to see the kids' reactions on the rides but are not coming with us. But I guess if you've been there before or go often then you may not want it.

The prepurchase price is $149 if you buy it at least 3 days in advance. That is a $50 discount from buying it less than 3 days in advance or in the parks.

I bought it because last year I spent $100 last year making a book using select Photopass pics and I wish I had more of the pics, they were really good for us!

You should ALWAYS take a picture of the back of any PP card that you are given so that way if the card does get lost you are still able to claim the photos with the number onthe back.

What's the deal with ride videos? What rides is it on? Do they video you the whole time?

I skipped the memory maker for our first family trip back in July. That is my only regret from our vacation. Now I have to pay more money to get those pictures, could've saved myself $50!
