My MIL recently booked us connecting rooms at SOG. My FIL is handicapped so the only way we could have connecting rooms was for us both to have handicapped rooms. I feel pretty guilty about this so I called up SOG myself to see if my family could switch to a non-handicapped room but there aren't any other rooms left but the woman said that there were at least 10 handicapped rooms left. Do you think this is acceptable?? I don't want to take a handicapped room from some poor veteran who actually needs it.....my MIL says it's fine but I"m not too sure. What do you think?? Thanks!

Sarah :)

Shoot, there are rooms available still for that retired military person out there, so don't worry about using that room. You need a room, it's available, use it.

And being a veteran will not get you a room at SOG. You have to be active military, retired military (not just veteran) or Dept of Defense employee.

If SOG room assignments are done like Disney, all special needs (medical, accessible rooms, etc) are all pre-blocked in advance. Any extra accessible rooms were all given out to standard reservations, since they weren't needed. After all, they need to be sold too.

If it really bothers you, ask if there is a shortage when you check in and then make your decision. If there are still empty rooms then it won't be a deal. If they are scrambling they might appreciate the offer.
