Should I Even Attempt TOT or Mission Space?

Given that Goofy's Barnstormer was too much for me last year - what I hate is the sensation that I am going to be thrown or fall out of the ride. I don't get motion sickness - I am fine with the tea cups and other spinning rides. DS (9) really wants to try these two rides but I am a little apprehensive. What do you think - should I try them or should I just wait in line with him and take the chicken exit?

Thanks for your help! :crazy2:

Well, if the only thing that bothers you is feeling like you will fall out, you should be fine on Mission Space. You are secured by a shoulder harness and the control panel in the capsule comes towards you. They warn you that if you are claustrophobic, you shouldn't ride and also if you experience motion sickness you may have a hard time. I love Mission Space!! I find as long as you follow exactly what they tell you to do, (eyes open, head back, look straight ahead) you will be fine.

TOT on the other hand may not be for you. It a free fall ride and all you have keeping you in your seat is a lap belt.

Mission space is a motion ride on steroids( trhink stars tours at MGM x10) - but since you don't get motion sickness I'd say go for this one. However ToT you are dropped down an elevator shaft and pulled back up 3 or 4 times (think yoyo) with just a seat belt holding you in - you are not being whipped side to side just falling down and being pulled up - I personally love this ride!!!! and encourage all to try it once - its really not so bad and its over (once the dropping starts) in a minute!

Enjoy

Mission Space had no part where I felt like I could be "thrown out of the ride." You'll probably be fine on it. TOT is another matter, but you might be able to handle it. I normally don't like rides where you are "dropped" 4 or more stories. I rode one at Six Flags Over Texas, and refuse to do it again. That being said, I did decide to try TOT. Luckily, I was seated on the far right side, and when we were about to drop, I braced myself on the right "wall" of the ride. I was able to keep from floating up out of my seat that way. Also, the drop was never all the way to the bottom in the ride sequence we got. We'd go down several stories, then up and down some more, etc. to the point where I almost couldn't tell if we were headed up or down. And then it was over. I actually rode a second time ( and scored a "wall" seat again to brace myself. I say "Go for it!!":bounce:
Good luck!!

Can't comment on mission space as I haven't done that ride yet but TOT is great!!! I don't like rides that go upside down etc and can be a bit of a light weight when it comes to certain rides but I found TOT easy!!

If you do decide to have a go maybe you should try to get a wall seat like scootron has done, failing that just grab onto the person beside you!!! Good Luck:Pinkbounc

Thanks, everyone! You have now convinced me to try Mission Space - I will warm up to it, though by going on Star Wars at MGM the day before. Who knows, if I can find a good margarita at MGM, I may be willing to try TOT. :hyper:
