I have an estimate for a 7 day cruise next summer. I can put down an estimate now and get two connecting SPH rooms. This is $2000 cheaper than a category 4 (there are 5 of us).
DH just kind of gave in on the cruise we are taking this summer! Now my hope is that he likes it so much we do the 7 day next summer, but I won't know that until July--and any hope of getting a SPH will be out the window by then.
If he doesn't like it, I can get the deposit back. But he isn't the type to like expensive surprises! Even if he does decide I want to go, I don't know how he'll react if I've already set one up!
What do you think!

I would just ask him - Tell him that if he doesn't like the cruise you can get the deposit back for next years cruise so nothing is really lost. And if he does like the cruise you will be getting the accomadations you want.:D

I;m in a similiar situation to you, I'm tyring to snag a SPR for the Christmas 2004 sailing (I wish Disney would release those date!!!!) I've told DH about it, and we're waiting for the rates to be released. If they are decent, we'll book the SPR now, and if we decide not to go, I'll release it and get my deposit back. That's the beauty of the DCL deposit, it's completely refundable. I'd tell DH and see what he says. I'm one who doesn't believe in hiding things from DH. Tell him, you're trying to save money this way, and if he doesn't like the cruise, you'll get the deposit back. Since you're also trying to sail next June, I'd book sooner rather than later anyway, those summer sailings are always VERY expensive and book up quickly!!!!
