Since you're only going to be there for 2 nights, imo you'll be fine winging it. We went to Vero Beach for the first time last month for 4 nights, and in advance I had researched all of these offsite things to potentially do to avoid boredom. Well, once we got to Vero Beach, we never wanted to leave. It's a great place to relax and there are plenty of leisurely diversions there, such as:
Independent activities:
1. Swimming in the pool
2. Beachcombing or sandcastle building (the ocean water was too cold for us to want to swim in, but to each his own)
3. Bike riding (you rent at Vero Beach, and the paths take you out of the resort)
4. Mini-golf (only 9 holes)
5. Tennis
6. Bocce ball
7. Bean bag toss
8. Ping pong
9. Laying in a hammock (my personal favorite)
10. Watching a movie via the DVD player in your resort room
Sign-up and/or group activities:
1. Pool bingo
2. Scavenger hunt
3. Geocaching
4. Bocce ball lesson
5. Cookie decorating (this is popular so book it asap if it's available when you're there)
6. Arts and crafts, such as tie dye Mickey shirts, making other nice decorative souvenirs, etc.
7. Outdoor movie nights
There was a lot more than what I listed, but that is just what I remember off the top of my head. They give you an activity list kind of like the Personal Navigator on the
Disney cruise ships, so you'll know upon arrival what's available for the week. Vero Beach has a similar vibe to a cruise, a relax near the ocean & get away from it all kind of feeling. We're going back in November.
