Should I change my AK day?

Tomorrow is my fast pass 60 day window. My plan is to go to Animal Kingdom on Wednesday...That would be 62 days out. I'm reading that people are having better luck 64+ days out for FOP fast passes. Should I change my AK day to Saturday?

I think the "new" strategy is to see when you can get the FP+'s you really want and work your park days around that, instead of the other way around.

We have done week long trips in June, July, October, and January during the past year and never had any problem getting them for our first day or a later day during any of the trips.

Did my fast passes today and got FoP on day 61 and Na'vi on day 62. Now the FoP is really late close to closing.

I booked yesterday and could not find any availability for our first days but did on day 5 so this might be what you need to do also. On my trip in December I had no problem getting them for day 1.

I did ours for early in the trip, but I went in at 7 am and that was the first day I booked and there were many early FP options available. I had to take a 12PM time to work around a tour we are doing in the morning, but 10 am was the earliest available.

I did mine today. I don’t see anymore fast passes for Wed, June 6. I took a 5 pm one on that day because that’s our AK day. I checked back about an hours ago and there isn’t anything available.

Booked our FP+ yesterday as well. Was able to get FoP on the 5th(early afternoon) and 7th(evening) of June which is our 4th and 6th days. Worked out perfect as we're doing a split stay with AKV-Jambo the last 3 days of our trip. We're going to try standby for Navi late night after FoP on the 7th.

Having more problems getting 7DMT at the time I need. I'm going to keep trying. Right now it's going to keep us from getting additional FP that day.

Since Saturday is 5 days out you might be ok to check real quick for Wednesday when your fast pass window opens at 7am. If nothing is available, jump right away to Saturday to snag an FoP fastPass. You may be taking a bit of a risk by not just going straight to Saturday. So, to be safe, you could, instead, grab a Saturday FoP fastPass. Then jump back to Wednesday. If you can’t get a fastpass on any day, fear not, there is a way to ride a FoP without a fastPass even before the park officially opens. I did it three times in January.

I hope you were able to get FoP. It is absolutely wonderful.
That being said we did not think Navi River was worth all the hype. I thought with all the technology available there would be a lot more to the ride.
All that time to build Pandora and there really isn't anything to write home about in that area except FoP not good food, shops or rides.
Pandora was a real disappointment overall to my family.
I thought after Disney saw what Universal created with Harry Potter they'd step up their game.

Did you happen to notice if there were any available for Friday or Saturday? I'm stressing over how to change my plans (especially a lunch at Tusker House and possibly at Via Napoli if I have to change my park days.)

What did you do??
I caught the first AK bus and arrived at AK about 70 minutes before the scheduled opening. They actually opened the park 45 minutes early. Then I power walked toward Pandora. A cast member held everyone back at the Pandora entrance until about 30 minutes before scheduled park opening, then they let us enter the FoP ride line. The line moved so swiftly that I couldn’t even stop to snap a photo of the amazing scenery. I walked off FoP right at 9am on two scheduled 9:00 openings, and I walked off FoP at 8:10am on a scheduled 8:00 EMH morning. Each time the wait time had grown to 3 hours by the time I walked off the ride.

I've got AK scheduled on our 2nd day, as well. I'm able to flip it to day 4 if needed, but I really don't want to! I still have a way to go until FP day.

Booked my FPs today as well. Couldn't find any FPs for FOP for 60+2, so I booked a 2pm one for 60+4. Didn't look at 60+3, as that day doesn't work for our schedule. I logged on right at 7am EST too, so I was surprised not to get FOP for 60+2, as that was the first FP I tried to book.

Did the first bus leave the hotel about 90 minutes before opening?

Yes, but this could vary at different resorts, and at different stops within resorts.
The plan should be to be at the bus stop 95 minutes before scheduled opening so you don’t miss the first bus. If, by chance, the first bus fills up at earlier stops in your resort it may not arrive, but you should be ok as long as the next one arrives 20 minutes later.
