I have booked 5 nights at the RPR as part of my honeymoon. But now I am thinking of changing to HRH. Here are my reasons:

RPR
Prefer the theming
Cheapest
"Beach pool"

HRH
A lot closer to the parks
Prefer the in-room menu :rotfl:
Rooms look newer

A lot are saying we should choose the PBH, but the theming, nor the restaurants really appeal to us.

Also, is there more likelihood in either of getting a Lowes First blue upgrade in either?
Obviously its not a major decision, but just wondering what your thoughts are on RPR and HRH?

Thanks

We've stayed at RPR since it opened. HRH is not that much closer to the parks. It's about a 5-10 minute walk. We order room service every night and love it. RPR, to me, is a more romantic hotel.

Takes about 7 mins to get to the parks from RPR compared with 2mins to universal studios from HRH , not a reason i would change resorts for. RPR is getting renovated at the minute and should be finished by December, so rooms would be newer here as HRH was done about 18 months ago.
Have stayed the last 2 years at RPR and booked again for next year, the resort is excellent, have never stayed at HRH so cannot comment, but you can always pool hop no matter what resort you stay in.

To the OP: The RPR is more romantic and quiet, HRH is more "in yer face" and "rock and roll" .....if you want quiet and romance, stik w/ RPR.....if ya want to 'spice it up' at bit, switch to HRH....OR do a split-stay and switch mid-trip! Like Robert mentioned, you CAN pool hop! (So, don't let the 'beach' bother you)

have never stayed at HRH so cannot comment,

C'mon Robert.....are ya the least bit curious?? Give 'er a try :thumbsup2 ...maybe another 'split-stay' thing :scratchin (just be sure to make RPR the 'end' of the split stay) We're finally stayin at PB...that will make me a 3-way-er...stayed at all 3!

Hi Barb, would love to try the HRH and the PBH again as i know what to look out for the next time.
After this year DW is not to keen on trying different hotels, especially as she loves the RPR, but maybe after next year i could convince her to maybe trying all 3 in the one holiday. Or better still , maybe you could convince her next year that she needs to try all 3.:rolleyes1

No problem.... got yer back :thumbsup2 I don't think your wife (name?) is an 'in yer face rock n roll' type gal  But, yes....you should give all 3 a try...ya never know...she could have a 'secret, hidden love' :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

You will LOVE RPR! It is beautiful!

We like both RPR and HRH, but do prefer HRH a little. You can always go over and visit RPR and also Portofino, which we plan on doing this trip as we'll be at HRH in a couple weeks. If you're feeling HRH change over. We definitely preferred the pool and the proximity to the parks. Either way you'll be happy though! :thumbsup2

We've stayedat HRH and RPR 2x each.

HRH theming is fun, and I like the size and layout of the rooms better, but their custormer service there is horrible. We had problems with service both trips and the 2nd tiem the manager out right lied to my siters credit card company. They had given us a free night and free upgrade on the 2nd trip because of problems at check-in. 2 of our 3 ngihts were already free because of the bad service the 1st trip. At check-out everything was fine. 2 months later my sister was charge full price for 2 night. The manager claimed the only reason our final bill said the account balance on the room was 0 was because the computers were down (hmmm the bill clearly showed our roll away and charges we made to our room key LOL) and that we were given the choice of staying in the room that the lock didn't work for free, or paying for a different room.

RPR OTOH..... great customer service, beautiful theming, wonderful restaurants
