Should I cancel OBB dessert party reservation?

I made a reservation to this event mostly for parade viewing (I’m not a huge dessert person and I’m Dairy-Free to boot so that’s always a crapshoot) but it sounded a bit festive and I’m big on experiences.

Now I’m starting to debate myself as I am absolutely not the kind of person who wants to share a table with strangers. Being solo I thought they’d put me at a two top but what if I share with a group. Imagine being the lone person at a table with a group who are all partying together. 😐

I’m thinking it’s not worth the chance of sharing and it sounds like a decent view of the parade is not hard to get on a random sidewalk.

Just looking for some input.

You could do the dinner at Wine Country Trattoria parade package instead. Standing for the reserved parade section but you wouldn’t be sharing a table at dinner.

This is a possibility. And I’m not worried about ‘standing’. I’m a chemo patient and will be sticking to a ECV for this trip.

Thanks for the input.

I think your concern is valid about sharing. We (party of 2) almost had to share but then got lucky. After doing it once, we didn’t do the dessert party the last two years because it took up quite a bit of time and parade viewing was relatively easy to get without too much waiting.
I guess I’m so used to WDW that I hadn’t really considered that there’s not quite the scramble for position. The more I see people talking about decent viewing the less pressed I feel to get a reserved ‘seat’ so to speak.

I’m sure they have a wheelchair/ECV section too, so the dinner package may work nicely. I hope you enjoy whatever you decide. We are doing the dinner parade package this Thursday.

I will pay whatever it takes for a seat, though I'm in Disneyland during the day and then over for the party during the night, it's a long day of standing and walking. I've heard they may have some new vegan options for the dessert party if you mark a dietary restriction in advance, in that case they would be dairy free.

I haven't worried too much about being sat with someone else... it happened to me once (also when I was solo) and the couple turned out to be really interesting. They were *hardcore* star wars fans and were dressed up as the first order, like REALLY REALLY well. We then slowly got into a conversation about the resistance vs the first order and the rebels vs the empire and they made some pretty compelling points about terrorism and which side was actually the "better side."

Now that I think back on it... not sure if they were an epic troll and just "sticking to character" or if they actually believed in what they were saying, lol

It really isn't difficult to get a spot for the parade, IMO. I got a spot up front right outside the Little Mermaid exit, by just plopping myself down 30 minutes beforehand. Because you're in an ECV, there will be no plopping, but you should still be able to get a good spot. The park is less crowded than a normal day and the parade route is so long, I feel like there's space for everyone. (And two parade times helps!)

I like the dessert party for WOC, but for such a short event like OBB, I was worried it would take too much of my time away and at a premium price, so I didn't do it and was fine.

That said... I have done the WOC Dessert party as a solo visitor, and they sat me with other solo visitors. I think they try to do that, but it doesn't always work out that way. In my experience, most people are good at respecting boundaries though, because they're all just here to see the same thing you are.

I don't have any personal experience with the WCT packages, but that might be something to look into if you don't want to risk it.

So I did the dessert party and even filmed the entire parade with other people

We barley talked, so unless you have people who really want to engage with you you should be good.

But I will say most say you can go to the second parade with little to no fighting for a good spot, I'd just be near the parade route 30-20 mins before the second show and see if you need to line up then or not

Where do you find the parade package at? When I looked at the reservations it looks like it is closing at 3pm on the 19th. I checked for an Oogie Boogie dinner package on the dining page and don't see one.

Scroll down on the WCT page. Information on OBB parade package is there.

I did the OBB Dessert Party a couple years ago with 2 of my friends. The desserts were incredibly sweet, I couldn't even finish mine! We did get alcohol included with the package, so that was great!
As far as parade viewing, like everyone else said, you can find a good spot without any type of premium seating. We usually like to watch the parade over by the Hyperion Theater. My friends and I have done that for that past few years, and we've never had an issue with finding a great spot. We also usually watch the second parade.

I just booked a table at 4:55pm during OBB as that’s what the website said to do. There wasn’t a specific package I booked. Scroll down to the bottom of this link for details: https://disneyland.disney.go.com/dining/disney-california-adventure/wine-country-trattoria/

The OBB Dessert Party is expensive, and you can find parade seating without it, but it is really nice to sit on chair, and have a really great view of the parade. It is a luxury, I have done it solo and shared a table with a group, it was fine everyone is there to enjoy themselves. My one complaint that I would love for Disney to see this: please add cheese, crackers & grapes like they do for World of Color Dessert Party, it is nice to have some variety, not just all sweets.

I cancelled my OOB Dessert Party tickets last year and still regret it! I probably put myself in a bad position, I don't like to wait, and people are willing to stand and wait. So I wandered around, got myself in a bad spot and literally got roped out of the parade by Goofys Sky School. Could have crushed myself under the ropes about 5 people back to watch, but didn't and missed the later parade: was getting pictures during first parade. I love the convenience of the parade parties. Worth it for me.
