Should I Cancel Jiko?

I have a Jiko ADR in Dec, but don't know wether I should keep it, or switch it to something else.

I ate at Jiko last year and had the appetizer and dessert samplers, and while some of the things I really liked, others I were not impressed by. But, the ones I did like were ones I would of ordered a la carte, and vice versa, so I think it depends on what I order how much I'll like it.

The service was excellant as well.

I'm just not sure if I should keep this, or go somewhere else. Any suggestions?

I have eaten at this restaurant twice for dinner. We've had app's, entree's and desserts both times. We LOVE it. It's one of the best restaurants on property. It's soooo good. My favourites there are the Duck firecraker app. Organic greens with buttermilk carrot dressing, Filet with mac and cheese. Sounds weird but soooooooooooooooooo good :cloud9: Desserts, can you really have a bad dessert!? :rotfl:
Keep them, if you have any questions or dietary needs the chef will come out and speak with you directly. Give it a try. If not take me with you i your suitcase and I'll so :rotfl2:

keep them! The chermoula chicken is divine, as is the filet and mac and cheese. I've had better desserts other places, but for food, atmosphere and service, it's our favorite WDW restaurant.

Jiko is my favorite restaurant at Disney, so I say keep it! Do you remember what you ate last year? (Or is it only weirdos like me that keep journals of every detail of my trips?)

First of all, no, you're not a weirdo. Either that or we're both wierdos, and in that case I'm a bigger wierdo than you, since I have a journal for the trip, and then a whole other journal for restaurants.

I had the appetizer sampler, which had on it - a duck and pork firecracker, two pieces of the lamb patis two pieces of lentil pastilla, and a maize and sweet potato tamale. The appetizers I actually enjoyed for the most part except I though the lamb patis we're a little on the spicy side, and I didn't like the lentil pastilla at all. But I never would of ordered the lentil pastilla a la carte, so I really can't blame Jiko for not liking that one.

Then for dessert I had the dessert sampler. I was looking foward to this the most, and was pretty dissapointed. It was, (and I don't think many of these are on the menu anymore,) pistachio creme brulee, a quince-cranberry napoleon, shredded fried apple dumpling with buttermilk and sour apple sorbets, and a flourless chocolate cake. I only like two things on the plate, the pistachio creme brulee, (which is probably what I would of ordered if I had ordered just one dessert,) and the buttermilk sorbet.

I guess I will keep Jiko, and just order whatever sounds the most apealling instead of getting samplers so I can "try a little bit of everything." I have Boma for that. The service there was excellant anyway.

I loved Jiko on our April trip and I would like to go again.
Since you have also experienced it, and were not thrilled, I guess I would say you should go with your feelings about whether it is good for YOU or not. No one else can tell you what YOU will like. We all have different likes and dislikes. What I like, you may not, and that is okay!
