Hi, planning a trip for spring break easter time. Should I buy airline tickets now or would it be safe to wait. Prices ranging from $179 to up over $400 . thanks Diane

If you find a good price($180-$250) for your travel days, and good times, I would book as soon as possible. At least you will be locked in at those prices, and you won't have to check airfares on the net everday. For holiday travel periods, airlines usually don't lower fares very much,if at all.;)

I've been struggling with this question myself. We don't leave until mid-May so I feel I have a little time to play with. I'm actually waiting for SW and Air Tran to open up my dates. You may want to try Jet Blue which I heard good things about but doesn't fly anywhere close to me. I don't know if your dates are up and available yet but you may want to try them. Good luck!

I have been looking at airfare for friends that are going the April Break week. If you can get something for $179, I'd say grab it now! The cheapest I've found for them is $194 (including all fees on Delta) leaving the Monday after Easter. Anything earlier is $300-$400!!!

I just checked JetBlue, and the fares for them would be $114 there and $94 for return, but you also must add the fees of $17 each way. That adds up to $225 r/t non-stop direct.

I really don't think you will find anything cheaper than $179 during a holiday week! :):D:)

Hello dbutterfly- Southwest out of Islip is booking now for Easter with flights as low as 59.00 each way. Check out www.southwest.com . If your dates are booked out, maybe you could adjust your dates for the lower price.
By the way, welcome to the Dis boards.

I BOUGHT TICKETS FROM DELTA FOR MAY.
201.00 A PIECE... THATS 151.OO PLUS TAXES.
I THOUGH THAT WAS PRETTY GOOD,, SO I JUST BOOKED THEM.
I DONT THINK THEY WILL GO LOWER THAT THAT FROM DAYTON TO ORLANDO.

mark & Sandra , where did you see Southwest special for Easter ?
When I went to their website , I can only make reservations until March. Did you ever fly Southwest, any good? Thanks for the info.

Sorry, they only expanded till March 8th. The next expansion will include Easter. We waited months for them to open past Jan. 10th and when they did we were able to jump on special internet prices for 59.00 each way. If you watch for info on the date they will expand their flights you can get great deals, you have to hurry though, our date sold out in under 1 hour. Southwest is great. I'd rather be treated like cattle for 59.00 then be treated like cattle for 300.00. The only downside is no assigned seating, if you get there early, AND line up early for boarding you'll be among the first in the plane. We live about 10 min. from the airport, so leaving from ISP was a no brainer. We've flown Spirit and U.S. Air and settled on Southwest (SW credit card miles did influence us)
