should i book now

We are planning a one night stay at AOA LM room in February. Should I book it now as we wont need a package?
If a discount comes out for then will they apply it if I call back?
I rely on these boards to announce discounts ahead of disney!!

You currently cannot book for 2013 yet. Afaik you'll be able to book it in the summer when the 2013 rates come out.
And if a discount comes out you may be able to apply it to your reservations. Only a number of rooms per hotel will be eligible for discount, so it depends. You can always call once they come out and see.

Yes, my sister has us booked, room only, AoA, Little Mermaid, for March 2013. No packages yet, but you can book the room. We had to call and book, you cannot book online now. We were told the packages will be availiable sometime in August.

You can book room only something like up to 500 days out.. BUT you will book at the highest rate for the current year and your rate will be adjusted when the 2013 rates come out.

For packages -- no other option -- you must wait.

Booking a room only and switching to a package guarantees you nothing because they have to cancel the room only to create your package.. So.. it's just pointless. Good for piece of mind but in truth - gains you zilch.

Also booking a room only now doesn't guarantee you'll get a room-only discount. They only release a certain # of discounts- and not for all room categories sometimes. And sometimes not even for some resorts.

A theory on these boards is that if everyone books a room before the discounts come out, Disney doesn't see the need to release discounts or will release lower discounts since the resorts are being booked up without discounts.

If you don't care about getting a discount, cause you'll stay with our without a discount, then book now. If you're waiting for a discount, I'd book when they are released.

With room discounts you have to be flexible. We had a Bounce Back offer from Jan for our next vacay, and wanted to book WL but the only rooms avail on that discount were bunk bed rooms (which we didn't want) so we booked AKL.

This last round of WDW room discounts excluded AoA.
