going 3rd week of june, 2005. should I book a room now so I have something or just wait for discount codes to come out.

also, can one person get an AP and use it to book a room for the whole family.. we would be 2 adults 2 kids.

and yet another question...I know this sounds crazy but we are toying between deluxe and value....

if we go value we would get two rooms...one for the kids who are 15, 14 and one for us.....

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

We are going June 2005 also and I haven't booked anything yet. I'm going to wait now and see what the new package rates are in January then book. Hopefully I haven't waited too long.

Yes, one person can get an AP and book the room for the family.

I don't have any advice on the deluxe/value. Having the two bathrooms would be nice but if you can afford the deluxe that would be really a treat and probably the way I would go if money wasn't an issue.

Have fun! :flower1:

We are going in May. We talked to our travel agent today and she said that Disney is encouraging people to do room only for now, and then adjustments can be made when the new package comes out. I guess thats so you get the resort you want!

WE are hoping for some good codes to upgrade hotels in our budget or just save some money!!!

When we go in June/July, I finalize all the resort bookings in January, along with the airline flights. When new discount codes come up that apply to you, call and have your booking adjusted--NEVER cancel it and make a new one. They can adjust your ressies without losing your original room plan.
As far as value .vs. deluxe....make sure you want to afford the deluxe every trip going forward, you will not want to "go back" to a value once you've tasted a deluxe. There's no perfect answer. It will be up to you and your wallet.
Have a wonderful time! We love WDW in the summer :cool1:

I booked my ressie in October...........don't wait too long!!!!

I will be arriving on June 18th, and will be staying at the POP...my family
wants an extended stay, so do to cost I chose the value resort.

However I have stayed at the POLY in 1978, 1979 and 1980.....it was terrific

One of my relatives stayed at the POP in October and said it was fantastic.

But dzneelvr is correct once you stay at a moderate/deluxe it is hard not to go back.......after all DISNEY is DISNEY.

Have fun planning

We're going in July and I've already booked the room only. Hopefully we'll be able to get an AP discount when it gets closer because we already have our APs from last year. It's a busy time of year so I book early so I know that we'll get the hotel we want.

My kids are younger so we do deluxe. It all depends on what's more important to you. I can appreciate the need for two bathrooms with teenagers but with the deluxes I think you trade off for the convenience of transportation - MK hotels monorail and boats, Epcot hotels boats or walking to Epcot and MGM. From what I heard the values or really a tight squeeze, and the pools don't have slides, so if AP rates are good you might want to consider two moderates instead of two values.

We have stayed at all levels. Now we usually stay at BWV, using our dvc points. But if we want to lengthen our trip, we stay at one of the values before or after BW. I would go with two rooms at a value. Two bathrooms, two t.v.'s. Some peace and quiet for the adults. Yes, the deluxes are wonderful, but if you aren't planning on spending a lot of time at the resort/pool then one of the values just might be what you need.

Or, as somone else said, if you can get a good rate on a moderate go with those.

I am in the same situation as you are! We are going the June 4 and I am waiting to see how all the new stuff works out. I will either do 2 value rooms, 1CR room or if the new night time extra hours arn't offered then a condo off site so we really have some room to spread out! Too many things are changing right now for me to decide. We don't have any real opinions about which hotel so I am willing to wait to see what deals are offered!

decisions, decisions, so hard to make a choice

of course my kids want poly concierge.
my son still remembers the great guava juice.

but I can stay a value and lengthen our trip some.

okay ,thanks for all your great advice.
think I will take a big gulp, book a room and see what type of discounts come out in january.

thanks guys
